    This is heartbreaking stuff.

There was talk the doctors were going to wake him up out of his coma on thursday but that's obviously not happened and now we hear this news which isn't good at all.

An investigation needs to be carried out into whether there was adequate medical care on standby for the fighters or was there some penny pinching taking place? The fact that Abdusalamov wasn't rushed to a hospital immediately after the fight seems completing crazy and quite frankly criminal.

We can only hope that the fighting spirit that Magomed showed in the ring will help him to overcome his biggest fight of all but with each passing day things are looking bleak.

He'll likely live, but he may be severely brain-damaged and be in a similar state as Gerald McLellan.

I didnt click on this thread automatically thinking he was fine because there was no update

Hope he makes a recovery its sad how he can be a warrior and make everyone become a fan but risk his own life doing it
All trolls should just be banned dont like reading stuff like this then seeing a thread on 'quitting' or 'glass jaw' nonsense every fighter is risking their life regardless

sucks, best wishes for him and his family.

people here gotta stop calling fighter quitters and what not, these people literally risk their life everytime they step into the ring. this could of have been Mike alvarado if him and his corner didnt stop the fight with provo, yet some people call him a quitter.

there should be nothing but respect for each and every fighter that gets into the ring.

If there is already a thread up for this pls delete mine

Abdusalamov is in a coma after his last bout. It appears the ring doctors didnt really care about him. He even had to take a cab to get to the hospital, there was no ambulance. Well I really hope he will wake up again and the organizers and doctors will get what they deserve.

Abdusalamov and his family have a rock-solid case against both his promotors and the Athletic Commision. He and his family will soon be millionaires.

The fact that boxing is pure anarchy doesn't mean the law doesn't count for boxing promotors and governing bodies.

The promoter has zero control over what the doctors do. The promoter is definitely responsible for the medical bills, but anything beyond that should be directed at the Commission for that state.

I certainly agree if you're saying the doctors could/should have stopped it due to the extreme swelling in his face, but I don't think that there's anyway in hell they could have spotted a blood clot in his brain. C'mon man...
