So beating Salido,Juanma and Martinez doesn't ******t a place in the P4P list but beating Rosado,Macklin and Stevens does?

    Who are your top ten?

Handed out to promoted projects :deal

    Garcia = Pacman big fight
    Broner = Mayweather big fight

Chris John NO P4P handouts = No plans in HBO/Showtime

Rigo has to be very careful, because next close fight he will lose & be dropped forever.

Broner is talented, but pound for pound tenth best in boxing today?

    Broner ain't.

    Garcia, however, is.

Who the hell has Chris John beaten as of late to warrant P4P status, the guy always prices himself out of fights in the States because hes **** scared to leave Indonesia.

Rigo has one decent win on his record in 12 fights against the hyped up Donaire who showed tonight hes just a left hook simpleton with not much else to offer, not surprised how easy that fight was for him.

    Mikey Garcia P4P YES
    Adrien Broner P4P NO
    Chris John P4P Hell No
Rigo P4P you could make a case but hes only had 12 fights,it would be ridiculous considering how much of hype job Donaire is.

I was just using Golovkin as an example, dont be such a douche.

Wheres the list I dont see them?

Ah Im seein em now on page 1....

Donaire by default? What does that mean he lost his last fight and looked awful tonight against Darchinyan,he should not be on anyones list at the moment.Mikey on the back of his last three fights deserves a place in there, the rest of the guys are self explanatory but your wrong about Donaire.

JMM lost his last fight, should he be off the list? Martinez looked bad his last fight, should he be off the list? Pac hasn't won a fight in like two years, should he be off the list?

I could see a case for any of them (even Rigo) being taken off the list, except Mayweather, Bradley, and Ward (and Ward could get upset next week)

But even if you took out Donaire, or Wlad, or Pac,

Id put in Danny Garcia, not Mikey.

*By default I meant that I don't really see him as a top 10 p4p guy, but that hes in there because I don't rate anyone else ahead of him right now. All the people I put * next to, I really don't see as top 10 p4p types at this moment, but they are in because theres 10 spots that need to be filled and I don't rate anyone else ahead of them at the moment.

    Mikey
    Canelo
    Broner
    Golovkin

All have at least one year of success against top opponents for me to put them on the list, imo.

Canelo wont find that success, imo. Broner is borderline, I could see him sinking or swimming... but Ill hedge no on him too. Not sold on Mikey either, and Golovkin would have to stay at 160 if he wants the kind of success that will find him on the list, imo.

Chris John is in the same class as Pacman & Mayweather, he just fights guys who are outside the commercial network. (better than Martinez or the guys Broner feasted on)

Chris John been doing it for a decade

He had his ventures in the US owned JMM, Gainer (lineal & #1 Feathers at the time), fought Rocky twice, drawing then winning clearly in the rematch (high ring IQ = always improve in rematches)

Broner & Garcia are the creation of HBO, they are good but as good as any other title holder.

Chris John is his own creation, which means he doesn't get the hype other fighters get.

Reality is Chris John is on the same situation Larry Holmes is 48-0 & walking into a fight vs an underrated guy. Hopefully he comes on top and finishes off at 50-0, record 20 title defenses at Feather, GOAT Feather hands down

Your hype jobs will be forgotten as fast as they were created...guys like Chris John don't just go away, they become part of boxing history and will have people writing books about him.

Nothing wrong with hype jobs, aslong as they don't discount the real ATGs

I don't know much about John :)oops:) but I agree about HBO and SHO 'creating' fighters, giving them an illusion of p4p'ness to add to the package that they are trying to sell the fans, and the majority of the time (not always) it fails miserably. Theres always going to be a few diamonds in the rough with these creations, but majority of the time, imo they will fall short.

    Good post.

    My p4p:

    FMJ
    Ward
    Bradley
    Danny 'Swift' Garcia
    Carl Froch
    JMM
    -----------------------------

After that, I think it quickly gets extremely vague. Rigo, one p4p level fight. Sergio, needs to show he can return at 100% and start fighting again before you can confidently say hes still operating at elite level. PAC? Only still considered p4p out of habit as far as I can tell. Even beating Rios, himself coming off a loss wont help unless its a dominating performance.

Broner? Dont make me laugh. Alvarez? Guy has some OK wins, I think he will likely make it on in the future. Wlad? Probably top 10 somewhere, but its hard to quantify relative skill in a p4p list when his primary skill has been usage of his weight. Which is a skill, and Wlad is a skilled dude but its very hard to theorycraft him the way you can 130~160 lbers. Donaire? Maybe, not convinced he still has it - tonights bout was a showcase.

Guys who I think might prove they belong/still belong, or crack open a spot as top elites of the sport in 2014:

Rigo, Sergio, Donaire , PAC- depending on who and how well they fight. Can they prove they are able and going to continue to perform at the highest levels? If yes, then they deserve continuing p4p recognition. Rigo needs to prove he wasnt a one match wonder and can be consistent. Donaire that he still has it, same with PAC. I am less familiar with the depth of lighter classes. But for PAC, definitively winning a Bradley rematch puts PAC back at the top. If Sergio can get back 100% and dispatch Rubio in style, and then GGG afterwards hes right up there with Ward IMO.

Alvarez, Mikey Garcia, GGG - up and comers. For Alvarez, he had his big chance but getting shut out by FMJ does not qualify one as true p4p. But he is young and will likely improve and assuredly have big fights in the future. Going by his typical fight weight, he should be at MW anyhow.

Garcia and GGG largely in the same boat - both unbeaten, both look good and even dominant in all their recent matches. Both in need of defining wins against at least fringe p4p level elites, or cleaning out the top of their divisions in dominant fashion to credibly make the cut.

I dont get what your trying to say, guys like JMM and Sergio Martinez are in there because they are modern day greats,Marquez even on the back of his defeat to Bradley is still a P4P operator and his accomplishments speak for themselves. There have always been ?? marks over Donaire as to how good he is.Hes been beating up guys that are much smaller than him for the last 3 years, his punch power alone has got him into the P4P list, his last two fights have shown hes not much of a boxer and finds it very hard to adjust to a fight when his power is not working. The fact that you have asked me why Im ok with JMM in there but not Donaire tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of boxing.

    Goodbye

    :hi:

Go to Boxrec and have a look at who Chris John has been fighting and then come back and tell me he is in the same league as Manny and Floyd.

You clearly dont have a clue what you are talking about.

Ive watched John fight quite a few times and see absolutely nothing there to back up your claim that he is the greatest featherweight of all time.

Erik Morales in his prime would have smoked that guy,the difference between Erik and John though is that Erik Morales actually fought the best.

Who the hell has John faced?

Dont even dare mention the gift he got against Marquez.

Lol So Chris John stands at the pinnacle of this era? Amongst Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones? haha. You must be the only guy to know this. Privileged position.
