Garcia and Tim DESERVE it, for the boxing fan, for the overwhelming number of casual fans Tim is absolutely not attractive to buy and Garcia doesn't bring in nearly as many views as Khan.

So from the business perspective I definitely understand this and people need to understand to fight Mayweather, on his contract, you need a minimum number of PPV buys and to pull your share of the revenue. To pass up Britain's most exciting star would be foolhardy

It's also hard to say Khan deservse this less than Guerrero or Canelo. Khan TKO'd Malignaggi, beat Kotelnik who beat Devon, beat Zab more decisively than anyone else in recent memory, arguably beat Peterson in a dirty fight, only to be cheated out of a re-match due to PEDs, to be TKO'd by Garcia when he went all out for a KO (stupid). Had he been given the Peterson fight, he would never have been in with Garcia and probably would have been propped up for Mayweather back then, so he basically came an inch of fighting the fighter he wanted only to be cheated and horribly derailed from it. I have some sympathy for him there.

So to say it's unfair I think is a little suspect. I would love to see this fight. If Khan commits himself to training with Hunter it could be exciting. Hopefully he learns how to survive and outbox, because if that chin can last it would be an amazing fight akin to Taylor vs Chavez with one guys handspeed and footwork outpointing the better fighter, only to be taking damage throughout the fight.

 

Ive seen so many idiotic comments in this post. Everyone knows styles make fights. People say Khan lost to Garcia and to peterson and looked bad against Diaz. The fact of the matter is khan was boxing the **** out of garcia before he got caught and peterson was juiced up and all the bull with the points taken off.

Mayweather is a skill fighter not a pressure fighter. Here we have 2 very skillfull fighters and ive never seen khan losing a boxing match in the past..

Any one name me one fight in which khan was being out boxed? out skilled? Khan does badly against pressure fghters... This will be a very good and entertainng fight!!!!

Im going to be bold and say that I honestly think Khan is going to give mayweather fits in the first half of this fight.

My main reason for this is because Khans speed and combinations. Mayweather has amazing reflexes but hes never faced anyone who throws the punches in bunches like khan.
The closest anyone has come to throwing fast combinations simliar to what Khan will do was Delahoya and we all know how close he came. I know that when Khan will throw so many fast combinations Mayweather will keep getting caught and will win rounds on the scorecards.
Khan will be winning this fight at the half way point but then I think Mayweather will change his style and go on the front foot. I cant see anyone beating Khan on the back foot!!!!

Problem is, those 'fast combinations' don't work against a live opponent. Not only is Mayweather a live opponent, he's one of the greatest of all time, this is a mismatch, wake up!
