    i think the two things he had going for him was that he could take a hell of shot and that he had a relentless punching style. but i'm really not impressed by his style or his record... and i'm a lot less impressed with him when i watch the old fights on youtube. i just think he wasn't that good.

    a few that come immediately to mind are floyd mayweather, sugar shane mosley, kostya tszyu, pacquiao, bradley, marquez, delahoya, tito, etc...in fact based on the fights i've seen with him, i'd have to even say cotto and zab judah would have beat him. and that's really because i think both cotto and zab are better than roger mayweather and rocky lockridge.

    the funny thing about chavez was that the ref stopped the taylor fight with 3 seconds to go in a fight that taylor was dominating. then chavez got a draw in a fight against sweet pea where pea basically shut hiim down. then chavez got a dq win in the rematch with randall in a fight where chavez was getting beat and he headbutted randall leading to the cut that caused the dq. if you look at chavez career there was some real funky shyt going on. he was the most overrated fighter and the most protected fighter at the same time...that undefeated record was worth more than gold to don king.

    Of course he's overrated. The mother ****er lost arguably his 2 biggest fights in Whitaker and Taylor. Then he got ***ually molested by a green DLH.
