You're off your rocker on the Fitz thread as I showed you Johnson was cut a few times without even doing much research. :deal Since you can't even acknowledge that there is little upside in accepting a challenge from a guy who has trouble admiting mistakes, and sometimes runs from them. Back to point on this thread. No, Choynski's problem was not lack of size. He was bigger than Fitz, and if he hit as hard as you think, why did he not stop Corbett, Fitz or Sharkey?

If you carefully examine Choynski's record, you'll see he faced plenty of journeyman that he did not put away. This is not the mark of a puncher at all. Punchers bounce limited opponents out of there. Choynski did not.

"Standing only 5'10", Choynski never weighed over 172 pounds for a fight. Yet, he was considered a devastating puncher. Jack Johnson contended, "Choynski could paralyze you even if he didn't catch you flush." In retrospect, his greatest victory was over a young Johnson on February 25, 1901 in Galveston, Texas. Choynski knocked out the future legend in the third round. Much later, Johnson claimed that Choynski was the hardest hitter of the previous fifty years, stating, "I think his left hook was much more effective than Dempsey's or Louis's." Both Choynski and Johnson were arrested after the fight and spent 28 days locked up in prison before making bail."

Yes--you have said one thing, then forgot and contradicted yourself with something else. I'm not going to spend hours searching for them if the posts are still here, but I will list a few of the hilarious examples:

You claimed you had a 137 IQ. Doubtful, as I have seen your math here.

You spoke of being married in the present tense, then one day spoke of a girlfriend. Then back peddled saying you were divorced ( Which I believe ) for years.

You went dark for months when we were supposed to meet up, registered under the poster name Boucher ( Others laughed ), and then came back late claiming you had some sort of surgery but you never said what it was! Care to disclose, er lie about it now?

I once laughed that you were posting at 3AM your time, and your retort was you were hunting rabbits. Surely it must be fun in the dark!

I was married for over 20 years , have been divorced for over 10 years and have been in a " live in" relationship with a lady for over 7 years .

Power Puncher and I corresponded ,[he offered to substitute and beat the **** out of you], I told him I looked forward to doing it myself.

I tried to contact you numerous times when I learned you were visiting this country I left both private and public messages for you, to which you did not respond.
I asked you for details of your flight and flight times you ignored my requests , despite posting on this site the very same day I asked for them .

After telling us you "punched a ton", you crept into, and out of the UK like the gutless coward you are.

None on this site knew you had even been in the UK until you were safely back home.
All of this is easliy verified , so be very careful lying about it.

Regarding my I Q ,If you trawl back you will note that I was replying to a question not bragging.
You will also note that I played it down saying I don't set much store by IQ figures and neither do I. My partners tested IQ is higher than mine and several friends have IQ.s in the Mensa range [two are members of it]contrary to what you posted 137 is NOT genius level at all.

For the record I consider myself of average intelligence and yourself in the sub- normal spectrum

I just got the book in the mail and it looks terrific … definitely in a Pollack/Compton style … have no idea if there is that much on Joe but I"m assuming it covers the man, his opponents and his era ..

 

He definitely deserves a book.

Sorry to the other posters who want to learn more about Choynski.

What I can add here is Choynski can be seen on film sparring with Jeffries in 1910. Even as an old man, Choynski impressed with very fast feet and agility.
