He deserves to get in for the beating alone that he inflicted on what was the most overrated fighter in the game. He turned him into a knee taking, dirty fighter/runner.
I will never for the life of me understand the hype this guy gets who are the guys he beat to make him this monster Lewis, Gomez, Cintron, Diaz??? Or was it struggling vs Clottey and possibly cheating Cotto. The only reason he cracked the top 5 at welter is because all the guys ahead of him moved up or lost vs elite competition this guy is quite honestly the most overrated big name fighter in years, this guy is a career WW who won a vacent WBO Belt in 01 vs Perez (who) yet didn't fight a notable WW til Cotto in 08 then got KO'd in every fight after.its only so long you can live off of calling someone out then losing directly after.
Everyone answering on emotions, as usual. I guess he will be in the hall of fame. With wins over prime Cotto and Martinez, how can he not be? He brought attention to the sport, he entertained and he beat top quality opposition. His problem is the hand-wrap situation, but Im not sure that will stop him from getting into the HoF in reality, but maybe it will.
