But being serious, and not on some hater ****.

I think he has a average chin. He can take shots. But not really big ones .

Its definitely not glass, but its not iron either. Its like Wood.

Pacquiao has a wood chin. If you just hit it, it wont break. But if you whack it hard enough it snaps with no chance of recovery.

Pac was not ko'd against marquez.

He stayed down cause arum told him too.

He made it obvious when he jumped face first into marquez's right hand.

Do you think it was always glass? Or can it get worse as a fighter ages?

He has been in a lot of handpicked 'catchweight' fights and in house Top Rank fights. What I know is his Chin was obliterated by Marquez. No, that punch wouldn't have KOed anyone what we know is it shattered Pacquiao's Chin. He won't be coming back from that no matter who Arum handpicks for him.

I don't buy into the whole Chins getting worse with age. I think he had an average Chin and now that Mandible is fine China waiting to be shattered again. I won't be buying the Rios PPV as I don't buy Top Rank PPV's because of Arum's bull**** and lies over the years. I will have to catch the replay the next week on HBO to see for myself. :good

I swore not to buy another Pac or Mayweather fight when their fight fell through.. and i have stood by it.. replay has been fine...

Interesting.. A chin can be average, but get caught just right, and shatter... i believe this too.

Everyone focuses on the 2nd KNOCKOUT which in truth with the force, power and timing it was landed at plus Manny running into it would have probably knocked out any Welterweight in history.

It's the 1st Knockdown that everyone should be focusing on as to me that is far more revealing and possibly hints that Manny's punch resistance may have slipped from where it was a few years ago. Looking back at the fight the 1st knockdown is far more shocking to me just because it didn't look like the kind of punch that you'd expect would knock down Manny after some of the brutal shots he's been hit by during his unbeaten run.

Must be 8/10. Originally I thought it was 9/10 or maybe 10/10, until the Marquez 4 fight. Pac's chin cannot be average however because an average chin doesnt take the flush shots he took from Cotto, Barrera, Morales, Margarito etc. He was also taking lots of flush shots in the Marquez 4 fight. The one that knocked him down is the one he didnt see, and the one that knocked him out he didnt see and the one he literally jumped into.

But I am no chinchecker. That sounds like the uncoolest sh't in one of the coolest sports, boxing.

Yeah because morales, Marques 4 times , cotto, hatton, clottey,Barrera , margorito arnt some of the best fighters this generation has to offer. :nut And 2 lbs doesn't make any difference if the fight isn't close. PAC has a good chin.

Iron chin, considering what he's taken it's amongst the best of the era

I would compare it to Leonard's chin

Think about this. When a fighter goes up against a guy who can really bang, what does he usually do? He gets gunshy and dont throw with full power. For that reason i think when manny moved up his chin didnt get tested that many times because everyone was so intimidated by his power. I still think his chin is above average but looking at it objectively i firmly believe this to be the case.

You didn't say "some of the best", which would have been accurate. You said "the best", and he hasn't faced the best.

    Solid chin. I'd say 7-8/10.
    He got KO'd. Sure.
But did Duran's chin suddenly went from "good" to "glass" after Hearns supposedly cracked it?
How about after Ali went down from a Frazier hook? Or when he was KD'd by a journeyman in Wepner?

You don't judge a boxer's chin based on that one occasion that he was floored.
You need to take all the collective punishment at the entirety of his career and see how much he withstood.

    His body is glass though.:deal
