Will Kid Galahad win a World title?

Imo no he can't he might pick up either european or comm title which is a a good acheievement but. Can't see him getting ahead of quigg or frampton. Both beat him imo. If jazza dickens had been fit enough he wud hav lost to him in his last fight.

 

KG is a very tricky operator who can give trouble to just about any opponent.
But IMO he lacks good basic fundamental boxing skills - or to put it another way he is a bit TOO unconventional to make it to the very top and stay there.

History is littered with examples of "unconventional" boxers who, like KG were very talented had exceptional skills, great talent etc. But they generally, with few exceptions, only go so far and fail at the very highest level, when their lack of sound fundamentals gets exposed against top level oposition.


I would need to see more of him against world class opponents to give a definitive answer. Maybe he is one of the exceptions. But at this stage my gut feeling says "no".

Agree not for me either at world level but if he can engineer himself into a contender position in the future good luck to him.

To me his problem may well be his style a fighter who won't give anyone a easy night typical Ingle fighter very elusive.

 

these days you cant rule it out. but if he got the Euro title in his next fight and took on the best of Europe he could have a chance.

even if he gets the European to add to his British that's still a big achievement

Yes.

Galahad is an amazing athlete who only started boxing late and has made incredible strides. Beat an England international in his second or third amateur fight. Not many win a British title just 8 years after starting boxing.

He's in the gym all the time getting top class sparring with Brook, Witter , Ajisafe and Cameron. Sparred Quigg and Munroe years ago with no problems.

Got a good team behind him with a track record of bringing champions through.

Yes bent nose, his type of style WILL work in the situations you describe.....short amateur fights, sparring etc....but where it will tend to break down is in the long, drawn out, sustained effort pro fights at top level...:good
