He holds records for most successful defences of world titles (27), most title fights (37), and he is after Joe Louis with (23) for most title defences won by knockout (21). Chávez also has the longest undefeated streak in boxing history, 13 years.

    Yeah very overrated

You have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry to be so blunt, but you don't.

Speeeed. Poweerrr. Is that the depth of 'analysis' around here? He was beatable at 147 sure, but he never carried 147 well. 130/135 was his best weight.

If there is one fighter I would recommend everyone to watch and learn from, it is Chavez. He had a deeper and higher understanding of fighting than almost anyone I've ever seen.

JCC isn't overrated he's still one of the best guys ever at around 130-140lbs.

Just because Pernell Whitaker was his nemesis doesn't mean he wasn't the 2nd best guy around in that weight range during the early 90's.

There are only a handful of guys in history his size that I'd pick against him including Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Aaron Pryor, Henry Armstrong...He likely beats most of the rest.

Of which, 87 were taco vendors, taxi drivers, bartenders, and burrito eaters.

Chavez Sr. has the most over inflated with bums record ever, in the history of boxing! That's a fact. :deal

Think up of every cliche, every worst trait on these boxing boards and you'll come up with a post similar to 'frontal lobotomy.' Absolute spastic of the highest order.

A mark of his greatness was displayed in that fight against El Chapo Rosario as in several of hs other fights that a lot of fighters he faced were never the same again after receiving the JC Superstar treatment.

You say he is overrated and lacks basic fundamentals. The onus is on you to prove that.
I'm genuinely curious as to why you think such a well-rounded fighter like Chavez lacks fundamentals.
Point to specific things...what did he lack?

No, however I had him clearly losing to pea as a matter of fact I thought pea gave him a schooling but that takes nothing away from his rep and his stamped status as a Mexican legend.
