That is as good a line up of punchers as anyone fought , possibly excluding Ali.

He was beyond shot. He was retired and had his boxing licence revoked. He could only fight in Germany.

 

Wlad gassed against Purrity because he couldn't handle the pace. To this day Wlad has not proved he can handle a frantic pace.
His poor stamina was exposed again with Brewster and its a reaason why he ducked Chisora.
If Wald couldn't beat Purrity with high out put , the current Wlad with low out put gets stopped even quicker.

McCline could be. He did lay Grant out with one left hook. Grant claimed he hurt his ankle but that's only because he went wet noodle limp as he crumbled, he wanted out anyway. McCline also was the first to drop Peter, who looked invincible against Wlad. And one of only three men to drop a prime Byrd. If Seamus is including Golota, I'm including McCline.

Anyway I was including those fighters per the standard set by Seamus in which he included Vitali, Golota, and Tucker as "homerun hitters" And was following his example.

I honestly don't put much stock into this "amount of puncher" category anyway. We can't really measure how hard these guys punched and most of the fighters being listed as home run hitting threats to Lewis were so flawed and vulnerable themselves all they had was a puncher's chance, which isn't much to rely on against such a superior opponent. Seamus was just using this highly subjective label to excuse Lewis for losing to an inferior opponent in the middle of his title reign where as Marciano did not.

Walcott may not be able to bench as much Rahman, but he certainly was a more gifted fighter with more tools to win a match. Marciano was surprised but at least in stance when Walcott floored him with that hook/cut, imagine if he had his chin out with an open mouthed grin, it could have been a knock out. Or if Rocky believed the press and took Charles lighty and ran out of gas late, he could have been slashed and bashed too pieces as Charles surprised everyone with a "turn back the clock" performance that took Rocky the distance.

That was just as true as your claim that Lewis was looking beyond McCall b4 their fight. McCall did have a title when he fought Bruno.
And even a contender might overlook another especially since Douglas already had them humili8ing losses 2 David Bey & Mike White b4 he even fought McCall.

Even my rankings from 3 yrs ago r still far better than 2day's others' rankings. And then unlike others I improved my rankings by far since then due 2 myself knowing more.
