Jim Watt has it level, giving Toney the 1st and Gavern the 2nd.

    Round 3

BIG LEFT HOOK by Toney as they meet in the center of the ring. GAVERN DOWN!! Unclear whether the ref officially ruled it a knockdown or slip. There didn't seem to be a count, but very clear knockdown. Either way, Toney moves in for the kill and unloads on Gavern. Weak uppercuts and slap-downs by Gavern, looking to cling onto Toney and stifle him. Toney is annoyed by the clinching and shows it by smacking Gavern repeatedly on the base of the skull with his right glove. Toney ducks and stretches backward with his front leg planted to slip a Gavern jab and slingshots in with a light counter 1-2. Uppercuts below the elbows by Toney. Right hand by Gavern! Toney shells up, may have been hurt. Gavern hammers down at his head, landing several rabbit punches. Toney shoeshines into Gavern's stomach as they clinch. Lead left hook and right cross by Toney rushing in. Big chopping right by Toney putting Gavern into a corner. Gavern is turning with each punch, looking to load up a counter right but not getting it off.

    10-8 Toney

    30-26 Toney
