I already said right there in that post. PTP Williams.

Lara didn't lose that **** any more than Richar Abril "lost" to Brandon Rios, or Juan Manuel Marquez "lost" the first three meetings with Manny Pacquiao.

That is his best (unofficial, obviously, because of the robbery) win and it's more impressive than past-best Cotto, who is Trout's.

Did you only recently start following the sport or something? Lara made his bones long before he looked forgettable in the draw with Martirosyan, or vulnerable with Angulo.

You outbox Paul Williams (and he did, far more convincingly than Quintana I) near his prime, you're set in stone as pretty damn good. No matter what happens after that.

Just got done watching the fight (Paul Williams vs. Erislandy Lara) on youtube. Both fighters gave it there all. Williams simply had no answer for Lara's superior hand speed. I've never seen a boxer land so many clean left hands in a twelve round fight. I scored it 119-109 for Lara. The Punisher got punished that night. Good fighter though.

I vote Lara. I think he is the most talented among the list and also that he will beat Trout, who is the only other acceptable answer in my opinion.

I scored it 117-111 for Lara...

Couldn't see it any closer but I do think the sentiment that Lara shut out Williams is a little overblown.

It was a robbery, but my scorecard indicates that it is no more of a robbery than Pacquiao vs. JMM III was. And less of a robbery than Helenius vs. Chisora was.

Are you kidding me? Pacquiao's first three fights with Marquez were all close. I thought Lara nearly pitched a shutout against Williams. I couldn't give Williams more than two rounds. That was one of the biggest robberies in boxing history.

...and unlike the PW that lost to Quintana, this was a good version with no excuses. (not to withhold too much credit from Quintana, who at one time was a decent contender, but Williams did take him lightly and was under-prepared for and befuddled from the scrappy game plan of Quintana...and destroyed him in the rematch)

Both the Lara & the PW of that night beat just about every current light middle, not counting Mayweather.

Golovkin knocked Ishida through the ropes and out cold in the 3rd round. This was the first time Ishida was ever knocked down, much less out.

ISHIDA KNOCKED KIRKLAND OUT IN THE VERY FIRST ROUND.............Paul Williams could not knock Ishida down, much less knock him out..........

So, I take it that no one was impressed by Andrade's decisive win over Martirosyan? I thought he showed tremendous poise and ring generalship for a boxer with only twenty professional fights. His blend of size, speed, stamina and skills would give anyone problems at 154 lbs, including Mayweather.

Lara fought Williams right after he was knocked out cold by Martinez. How was that a good version of Williams?
