I read that Murray refused to fight Golovkin, so now Golovkin will fight Geale. Quillin also refused to fight Golovkin and Martinez won't fight until next year, don't know about his injuries.............

The relevant question right now is Who will Murray fight next?
He is looking for an opponent. Why not Wood?

Murray was going to fly to Oz to fight wood.
Wood was training to fight Murray.
Presumably Wood is on weight and well prepared.
Planes do fly in BOTH directions, right?......

Murray is horribly over rated by Brits.

Thats on the strength of a great performance in Argentina when he beat,in my eyes,an overrated champion and got a fair draw in Germany.I keep reading that the middleweights is a tough division. For me theres a surfeit of decent champions and one outstanding one,but the rest are nothing to write home about.Murray is probably the best of the rest.Neither agree nor disagree with what you say,as I think it still remains to be seen.

Len I respect your opinion but it won't change mine.My main point being that I really rate Murray, but at some stage his time will pass.I think he had more than being a good opponent. He doesn't need GGG at the moment.......but who doesn't need half a mill if that is on the table. In these strange times don't tell me a draw in Germany doesn't translate to a win here:smoke

Murray cold have fought Golovkin, but he refused.....................sad.............I would have liked to see that fight as the other champion refuse to fight Golovkin.

Thank you for respecting my opinion Rhodesie9.
I would just ask you to take the time to rewatch the Sturm-murray fight sometime (without Murray-tinted glasses on) and score it properly, thats all I ask.

Indeed there was a time when a draw in Germany was a win......but that stopped for Sturm quite a while ago. (check out the fights with Geale/Soliman/Murray). The recent and probably current agenda is to not have one of boxings choice titles "tied up" in Germany....

I hope Felix gets a fair shake against Barker...I fear another anti-Sturm fix, I really do...........

Who you got in that fight?

You see, the thing is, I'm a boxing fan.

Not a Skippy-land TV fan, you dig? :-(

Didnt Murray call Mack a 'tit' too?
What is that with you guys, some kind of a local slang compliment in moron-land?

Len, barker surprised me in his last fight,in some respects I had him as the perennial gallant loser.I am concerned about this fight, I still think Felix at home is a big ask....and I don't necessarily see him coming through it.But if there is enough money on the table to secure his retirement I can see why he has taken it.

When the Sturm fight was announced, there was a stampede of posters on here pronouncing a certain Barker win.
Barker himself, since the Geale win seems to have bought into the hype, he has adopted a sort of "tough guy" persona which does not suit him at all. He is just not convincing as a tough guy!
His attempts at cold stares and tough expressions are cringable. He couldn't scare my granny and she's been dead forty years.
    I think felix beats him.
remember Geale came within 1 second of stopping Darren, and Sturm is really up for this one....
