I like Both guys but with that said why are you asking for Golovkin to move up to 168 when hes not even considered the number one man at 160(Its still Martinez) and you dont do the same with Ward who's the undisputed number one at 168 and has beat all the main challengers to move up to 175 and fight Kovalev,Stevenson,Pascal etc why arent you asking for Ward to move up to 175?

And is your all talk about Golovkin moving up to 168 a way to avoid the talk about a possible Golovkin-Mayweather fight?Or with Golovkin out of the way theres a stronger possibility that Floyd victims like Cotto and Canelo move up to 160 and win a belt there making a Mayweather move to 160 possible. I might be wrong Pimp but i have a feeling that theres an hidden agenda behind this thread to favor Mayweather but maybe i'm seeing something that isnt there.

I don't want to see him fight Ward NOW, why? Because he's simply not ready to make such a huge step up, I'd like him to clean MW division first, then move on to SMW and fight some other SMWs before fighting Ward.

I don't want Golovkin to fight Ward out of pure reason that nobody else will fight him in and around the division, that would suck and when he most likely loses people will say **** like "hypejob exposed".

US boxing, just like US society in general, has been in decline for a long time now.

GGG is probably going again to japan find some fringe Top 100 contender, then talking again that he wants big fights!but hey i think next year at somepoint GGG will prove he is the greatest and fight murray or barker!and then back to fighting top50 contenders.

Pbf ggg will never happen two different networks so I don't know where you're goin there. The fact is that ggg is 31 and really unproven at the elite level despite the hype he has gotten. If there were elites in his division I wouldn't say anything but there's not. Martinez is done and damn near 40. So if you want to say he's the second coming people should have no problem with him moving up to face real elites in ward or froch at 168.

I have no problems with ward moving up but ggg said he would fight at 168 so why not make*the fight. If ward moved up to 175 well never see it. Fighg ggg then move up. I think ward beats anyone in the world 175 and down anyway.

Problem with GGG going to 160 is once your past 30 its really not good for your career to force yourself to go back down in weight. He has always fought 160, and it seems like a good physiological fit. When you walk into camp with the same weight you will walk into the ring with, thats a healthy way to do things.

By the same token, I want to see Ward and GGG fight because it would be a great fight. Problem is, there dont seem to be many exciting fights at 168 other than Ward and Froch. Let it marinate for a year, Ward can get in some comeback fights and GGG can see if he gets his shot at Martinez.

I think 160 has some interesting fights though. Seems to me that the problem is one of perception more than anything. Until recently everyone was just measured against Martinez.

Plus plenty of the 154 guys step into the ring at same weight as GGG or Martinez. Some of the 154s should just step up, especially if they are SMW level by the time they actually step in ring. 154 mostly just a division for MWs to cut hard and fight lighter B-sides. When you consider that, over the next few years 160 might end up being the most interesting division.

IMO Golovkin still has unfinished business at 160 he needs to beat the lineal champion Martinez to be considered the number one at 160 after that i think he should move up. On the other hand at 168 theres nothing left for Ward he already beat the main guys there and he has been the undisputed number one there for some time now, after he disposes of Rodriguez he needs to move up to 175 and look for new challenges against the best Light Heavyweights, and when GGG finally moves up to 168(probably in 2015) even if Ward has already moved to 175 like i think he should they could still make it happen at a catchweight that both are comfortable at .BTW Agree that Ward beats anyone from 175 down.
