Mayweather is good enough that he doesn't need to fight toe to toe. Toe to toe is for the slow and unskilled. Most fans love Arturo Gatti because he fought like a "warrior", but let's be realistic here; He fought that way because he had to. Dude had to get punched in the face a lot in order to land his shots because quite frankly his boxing skills sucked by world class standards. Yeah, he was fun to watch, but relatively speaking he sucked ass as a boxer... And it really showed when Mayweather beat him silly and took almost literally zero punches back in the process.

When he fought Hatton, he let him come to him and repeatedly lead with the lead right. He used the Jab consistently with DLH, he stood toe to toe with Cotto, but used his legs against Guerrero. Im sorry my friend, but I contend that either you dont know what you're talking about, or you have watched all Mayweather fights drunk.
To denigrate floyd for this is silly but the point raised is true. Floyd cant fight really aggressive and throw combinations. Even against victor he tried to do this but started to look a bit clumsy. Its no wonder his accuracy is one of the best. He picks his punches carefully and is a sniper while people like Pacquaio are like machine guns and Amir Khan an AK47. It may look awesome to the viewer but pacquaio ended up slumped face first while amir khan is probably still stumbling like a baby giraffe. Floyd on the other hand has minimised damage to his body, has 100s of millions to his name, undefeated and considered amongst the GOAT. Why should fighters be obligated to end up dribbling and incoherent having caretakers wipe their ass after a **** for the rest of their lives to entertain us? So that we can say "wow they were such warriors" and 'respect' them?
