New Rule: You Can't Say That GGG's Resume Is Weak

GGG already cleaned up on some trop pros in the AM's. Martinez wants no part of GGG as a pro. Mayweather would never fight GGG.

 

If they're all ducking him at 160 then why not move to 168 where guys like Froch and Ward won't.:deal

 

I think Martinez deserves benefit of the doubt, his team acknowledges GGG is good and they want to be 100% for the fight. To me that sounds like they are on the level, and I think Martinez will step in if he gets healthy and does the job on Rubio that a healthy Martinez should do.

Murray also, I still think they might face off in May and the Feb1 date is a buildup. Which doesnt make sense to us, as its not a superfight... but probably makes sense to HBO because they will want a more marketable fight in Spring to lead into Martinez bout. Murray fighting GGG for titles on anniversary of Martinez fight would make for good marketing and promotion really, and a GGG win would set the stage for Martinez fight in eyes of the casuals.

Sturm and Geale though.... confirmed super duckers, and I agree that if a boxer is that convinced they will lose to someone we may as well take their word for it.

First PBF is a WW. Second he's a showtime fighter and GGG is HBO. Third if he did fight PBF would tool his ass too much speed defense reflexes and ring IQ for GGG to deal with. He wouldn't land on PBF enough to win. All that power means nothing if you can't land and GGG isn't a one shot KO guy anyway. He can't outbox PBF to a win he loses.:deal

 

Gaele is in line for a rematch with Barker. He's not ducking anyone.

 

Um, I know someone who knows the Mayweather camp. PBF's walk around weight is north of 154 pounds, which is where GGG said he would fight him.

NO WAY Mayweather takes this fight. GGG would not respect his power, and in case you noticed he's got fast hands, hits like a heavyweight, and forces the other guy into exchanges. The ring would not be big enough for PBF to run.

Just so you know, I think PBF is a special fighter, the best of the last decade. But he would be over his head here.

Yeah yeah yeah same story every fight no one will respect is power we've heard it all before. Shane would walk through his shots Oscar will walk through his shots Canelo will walk through his shots. Funny when they get into the ring with him it doesn't work like that. Is it just coincidence or maybe there's something to it? GGG is much slower than PBF not only that he's never fought anyone with the reflexes and speed that PBF has. GGG also has shorter arms than PBF which is not good considering PBF is arguably the best fighter in the sport at controlling distance and using his reach, PBF would get off first all night and force GGG to react to what he was doing in other words GGG would be playing catch up the night against a master boxer. GGG gets hit too much and is too slow for PBF.

 

And yet you recoil and go butthurt every time someone suggests that fight.

 

The fight can't happen people need to realize that. That's why I'm looking at fights that can like Ward-GGG or Froch-GGG

 

take martinez out of the present equation because of his injuries…the mw division isn't that strong to begin with. its not ggg's fault. he's done what he was supposed to do with the guys he's fought. that said, i don't think he's this irresistible force that would beat anyone put in front of him all the way up to 168 (don't tell me that's what his people are saying because paul williams' people said the same thing).

the mw division is weak. his resume is weak. be what it be fellas.

 

GGG isnt slow, he just does not always move fast. If you watch a lot of his fights it is clear GGG can move plenty fast - his biggest aversion though is to doing anything that would put himself off-balance.

FMJ might have problems with GGG because the thing he has hardest time dealing with is a good jab. I think Floyd would effectively seal GGG left body hook and avoid the overhand right. But the jab a different story, and GGG jab is probably about the force equivalent of a straight from the WWs FMJ has fought. Thats the fly in the ointment for FMJ in that fight. GGG isnt going to gas out either unlike many of FMJ opponents.

Would be an interesting fight.... will never happen though.
