If Geale is a weak opponent who do you suggest he fight that you consider a strong opponent?

Martinez, Quillin don't wanna fight him. Soliman might, but he's not a step up from Geale, probably a step down

Barker's promoter has no intention of putting him in with GGG. From his own mouth:

Geale is a genuine CLASS ACT.

A very good man, and I hate to see him in this fight.
I only hope the 500K he might earn for this one would be enough to retire on.
Not saying GGG will permanently hurt him, but Geale could easily get another belt and secure far more paydays by going the Quillin route.

    Geale<<<<<<<Quillin. 200K
Geale as WBO titlist......He could fight Soliman, Mora, Proxa, Rubio, Lemuiex, and make a few other fights and earns in the millions.

Bad mgmt IMO.....he doesnt need to cash in his chips. He's got serious earning potential unless GGG beats him badly.:-(

Geale is a better opponent for 3G than Ouma, Ishida, Rosado , Stevens type of opposition. At least Geale is a top 10 MW. Like I said before, if a fight with Murray is not available for whatever reason I'd like to see 3G fighting against one of these guys : Geale, Rubio or Mora.

Yeah lots of people (including myself) want to see 3G fighting Martinez and Quillin but they forget that Martinez will probably have a tune-up next year in April or May and Quillin is a GBP/SHO fighter.

Geale ducked GGG several times in the past, even to the point of getting stripped off his title after picking old Mundine over mandatory GGG, so I'll be very surprised if this rumour turns out to be true.

Perhaps all the criticism over his cowardly duckjob finally got to him?

I wish more top MW's were also ashamed of being labeled as the duckers they are for running scared from GGG, but it seems MW division is brimming with shameless cowards

I'm a GGG fan, but Geale had a much more lucrative offer from Mundine, who'd controversially beat him before. So it made sense to take that. He's also not a coward, going to Germany twice to battle the local guys. Maybe he's not delusional enough to think he has a decent chance vs GGG. Same with Murray

I dont like using the word "coward" in connection with any pro boxer. But "ducker" is accurate and apt.

However I think it might happen now, because 1) the money is a lot better fighting GGG that it was a year ago. Opponent total take have jumped from 5 figures, to 6 figures and now reportedly around the half million mark. I have to think a lot of people who wouldnt step in the ring for 80k even if they win, might reconsider if theyre gauranted a half million even if they lose.

and 2) GGG profile is just a lot higher. 1.5 years ago, losing to a relative "unknown" would have really hurt a top tiers MW career. Nowadays, losing a fight to GGG just doesnt look so bad in the eyes of the public and the networks. Losing a good fight to Golovkin is now actually a good way to make sure you get more premium cable dates.

I think 2014 will be a year with much bigger and better fights for GGG. He just had to pay his dues to HBO for a year, raising his profile via relatively inexpensive fights until the ratings were there and the ticket sales were up. Selling out the small room at MSG isnt bad at all either, especially with the premium ticket pricing. Its not PAC-level or even remotely close, but at 100-300 bucks a ticket its not chump change either.

Geale isn't that good. It speaks volumes for today's middleweight division that Geale had a title, and lost it in a competitive fight with Darren Barker.

Geale is a solid opponent in a somewhat barren division, where the best of a mediocre crop of fighters don't fight each other.

    Good post.

Geale made a very smart move by taking the Mundine fight. Especially with the first fight in which many think he deserved the nod.

As for fighting GGG now, I dont think the timings right. He could get a belt from Quillin and fight Soliman for millions before taking a short check and getting laid out.:-(

Geale would never get a belt from Quillin. Every round N'Dam wasn't knocked down he boxed the socks off Quillin. The judges gave Quillin almost every one of those rounds. Same hing happened with Rosado. Gabe had Peter hurt a few times and clearly won atleast a few of those rounds. Two the judges gave almost every round to Quillin (one did).

Geale who has no KO power has zero chance to beat Peter.

Murray refused to fight Golovkin, Martinez, nobody knows what he will do, Quillin refuses to fight Golovkin. Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world today....................

Someone has to step up and fight GGG.

Murray is petrified and Kid Chocolate is crying in the corner.
If Geale is being talked up, it's because he'll take the fight, no questions.

After Geale, GGG will have to move up, no-one else will fight him in this division.
