Oh god no. If there is one potential fight in boxing I would pay money not to see its Ward/Hopkins. It would be torturous, ugly as sin and boring as hell.

 

True, but if Ward wins, it'd confirm him as the supreme master boring fouler and mauler of this generation, taking the title from yesterday's master himself

I am a huge Ward fan. But no, no please. This is one of the worst style match ups to be made and would hurt Ward's earning potential more than any legacy it might provide from a 50 yr old guy.

I agree. You couldn't pay me to watch this fight. Hopkins is one of the all-time worst fan-friendly fighters in the history of the fight game. I am amazed anyone would have an interest in watching him fight. People keep saying how incredible Hopkins is because of his age. Who cares? The guy was a con man when he was younger, he is con man today.

this fight would have the ability to end boxing once and for all. two hit, hold and mauling fighters in the same ring would leave me wanting to slash my wrists.

the only positive would be the hope that they hurt each other with mutual headbutts and mauling.
