Funny that people are bitching about the possibility of seeing history happen right before their eyes.

Win or lose, this takes balls. Gotta respect a guy that puts it on the line like that when he'd have no problem sleepwalking to a 25-0 record and making bank the entire way.

Salido is not what he used to be, but this would be Lomas 2nd pro fight. We need more fighters that want to get **** done like Loma. Looking forward to this.

Teofilo was a different situation. You're talking about a guy that wasn't allowed to box professionally. Would you have a problem if Floyd Mayweather fought Bakhyt Sarsekbayev next? He is a gold medal winner.

Or how about if Mikey Garcia fought Ali Mahakri? He is 1-0. If this is allowed to happen, then why have rankings at all? Why have a champion? It turns boxing into a scam, and all the fans are idiots if they tune in to this. The best are supposed to fight the best, or at least a legit contender. As I said Vasyl may be great some day... but he hasn't earned it in the pros. You should be mad about this, yes.

In Lomachenkos last fight he beat Jose Ramirez the WBO international belt holder.Holding this belt guarentees you a ranking with the WBO which means you can fight for the title, this isnt some Don King bull**** where a fighter comes out of no where after a year of doing nothing to suddenly being ranked and in a title fight he has earned his ranking and right to fight for the title. He actually wanted to fight for a title in his first pro fight but Bob Arum said that wasnt possible thats why he got him the shot at the WBO international title so he could gain the ranking and fight for the title in his 2nd fight

I guess Lomachenko should schedule 30 TBA's and win all 30 fights by KO so he can prove himself first.:rofl

Pro boxing is a circus! There are plenty of less deserving fighters than Lomachenko who find themselves in a title bout. Lomachenko was the greatest amateur of all time and he won the WBO International title in his debut. He has a ranking, he earned it by fighting and beating the competition he did in his debut. Real boxing fans should be ecstatic that a fighter wants to challenge himself, make history and fight the toughest competition available. He could go the Broner or GRJ route and waste our time, so stop crying and enjoy a real fighter for a change.

Lomachenko will school Salido big time en route to a 6 round TKO.

Why are there people who don't want this fight to happen.

If he fails, fine. But if he succeeds he did something no one managed to do in boxing before him.
Or is it that. The possibility for him to do something legendary their heroes never could?

I do agree to an extent. I don't think such a green pro should get a title shot so fast. But I also like the idea of throwing such an obviously talented fighter in there with a grizzled veteran to see if he will sink or swim. Just wish there wasn't a title on the line.

A big gamble. It shows balls. But it could backfire bigtime.
