    You sound real old school. Proper strength training, including both bodyweight and weights are great for a fighters development. Now should boxers be benching heavy or doing heavy strict overhead presses (lifting for hypertrophy - muscle gain), probaly not.

    However, using weights in an explosive manner (i.e. cleans, deadlifts, snatches), basically movements that strengthens the central nervous system, are very beneficial for all athletes, including fighters

    You could argue that heavy lifts are counterproductive in boxing, as you lose mobility and flexibility.
    But to knock weight lifting in general because some people have acquired injuries whilst doing them without proper form, is like knocking ***** for smelling bad, when all it boils down to is personal hygiene, and in this case, the way you lift, AKA your form.

    I'd agree that the best weightlifters mess up their bodies because they put a lot of joints under extreme pressure, but you have to understand that the major weightlifters make for about 0.0005% of all the people lifting weights.

    Weight lifting in general is extremely beneficial for you if done the proper way, this thread is garbage.

    I guarentee i can still walk into the gym and pick more weight off the floor than you.

    If you actually did go to the gym and picked some weights up, you would know your thread is absolute nonsense, so I am convinced you are nothing but a weak, skinny little kid.

    I don't have to be on here guaranteeing you I lift more than you, I go to the gym daily and lift heavy weights, and I can spend some week nights laughing at muppets such as yourself knocking people with great physiques for lifting weight. :rofl
