Rios Uppercuts

This is Rios best punch and he will need to use it against Pacquiao. I don't think any of Pacquiao's previous opponents ever had or used an uppercut against him. Rios needs to use his uppercuts a lot in the fight and if he connects he might be able to KO Pacquiao. What Pacquiao needs to do is keep his hands up at all times and come in from angles to throw his combos.

 

Maybe because they have no chance to use it?

 

Pacquiao is bouncing in and out too much for the uppercut to be effectively used

Rios need Pacquiao to be on the inside for him to land that punch effectively. Pac is rarely on the inside. He's always at mid-range to long-range.

Marquez has the best uppercuts in the game currently, he used them to some success, but mostly from angles Rios probably won't ever get to.

 

I disagree, Rios' best punches are his jab and left hook. He throws good uppercuts with either hand however.

 

Rios can use them when Pacquiao comes in.

 

Have you seen Pacquiao-Marquez I-IV, Pacquiao-Margarito or Pacquiao-Clottey yet? I agree that he is susceptible to getting hit by that punch but Rios' uppercut is no better than any of these guys' uppercuts, so it's doubtful he'll get KO'd by one in this fight.

 

pac's angles make it hard for a slugger like rios to get it off ... a master boxer like marquez makes good use of it
