Froch isnt a *****,or a ****,he's a decent bloke who openly admits he's acheived far more than he even dreamed.no 'destiny'bull**** like most champions harp on about.show the man some respect.

The only straw Groves has to grasp at is the h2h common denominators, Glen Johnson & Charles Adamu, as he did outperform Froch in comparison on both counts...but anyone with eyes could see the difference between those versions of Johnson. Night and day, albeit only eighteen months apart. As for Adamu, six years had passed and he clearly had a fork stuck in him.

Froch would not only not struggle to a MD with the Johnson that was put in front of Groves, he probably overwhelms him to a British ref stoppage. Froch vs. Adamu II in 2010 or since would be a merciless slaughter.

That really is all Groves can brag on, too. I don't think anybody can really be expected to believe Froch couldn't savage all the rest of Groves' opposition. He would've done Smigga the same, disposed of Anderson faster without getting dropped himself, taken Sierra out at least as quickly if not sooner, and probably halted DeGale or at the very least bossed it wide on the front-foot.

As for the last ten dance partners Froch has tangoed, good luck to Groves coming out with only two defeats (one razor-thin)...

Its a mismatch as Groves hasn't got the punch resistance to survive the 12 and he isn't going to outbox Carl like Ward did.

Some interesting points IB, but still not a great comparison imo as your comparing Froch fighting them now and not at the same stage Groves was when he fought them.

Groves fought Adamu in what, his 9th fight? Anderson in his 11th? Would of he done the same in the same number of fights Groves had at that point though, I personally don't think so.

I like and have met them both. I really don't care who wins. But I can't see Groves making it by the 4th.

Glad to see another forum member with sense on this fight, you also clearly see it as a potential mismatch like i do.

The facts you base your analysis on namely that Froch is a KO machine and Groves has a glass jaw are both patently wrong. If anything it sounds like you have drank up the typical statements Froch is making in the media right now.

To call this a mismatch is incredibly short sighted imo.
Groves has Froch beat in a number of technical areas is 11 years younger and supremely confident. One thing is clear, whoever wins this fight is going to have to work hard for it, its not going to be an easy night or a mismatch by any means.

Froch isn't a murderous 1 Punch KO artist but he hits hard enough to hurt Groves and when he does he is relentless in getting the finish, Froch is a great finisher, brutal finisher.

Its common sense that Froch will hurt Groves, Groves was floored by Froch in sparring with headgear and bigger gloves.

I stand by my prediction, this will be a mismatch and there's no chance of him outboxing froch like some on here think might happen. Groves is no Andre Ward.

If anybody has drank up the typical statements, its you in believing the BS from Hearn, Groves and the other bunch of Sky paid pundits in saying how competitive it will be. They all want your money.

This is what i respect about Froch, he will tell anybody who listens that this isn't a PPV worthy fight, that Groves doesn't deserve a shot, isn't good enough and will be brutally stopped within 6 rounds.

He has said buy the fight if you want to see a one sided beat-down and i admire his honesty. He could have lied to the media about how Groves will be a hard fight but nope.

A mismatch was froch vs mack, a mismatch was groves vs alcoba (who?).
    This is no mismatch.

Unlike you I haven't come out and made line for line regurgitations of what's been said in the media and held them up as my own thoughts. You really think its Froch's honesty and not just him talking himself up and Groves down? Why would he admit Groves is a hard fight when his whole trashtalk was based on the idea of Groves not being ready and undeserving of a shot and this fight being a mismatch.

Also the fact that most Froch fans are saying "Froch KO" I think is revealing in that although they won't say it some do believe that if he doesn't KO Groves, he loses. Whenever one fighter has to KO another fighter to win - that's when you usually go for the other guy in my experience.

    1. Froch told the media that its a mismatch because he thinks it is, he never came out and said kessler 1 or 2 would be a mismatch. never said Ward was a mismatch or that a rematch would be. So You are wrong, Froch is a very honest man.

Also he told everybody that Mack was an easy fight if he performs to his potential, lack of preparing right and motivation being the only danger ahead of the Mack mismatch

    2. I and others are picking Froch by KO because it is the most likely to happen, if he doesn't KO Groves then Groves has better punch resistance than i am giving him credit for. If it goes 12 (it won't) Groves will take a beating and lose wide on all scorecards if scored fairly.

    3. There's nothing wrong with predicting a fighter to win by stoppage, you make it out to be some kind of sign that the Boxer someone predicts to win by KO can't win on points, its nonsense.

Nobody is saying Froch has to knock him out, just that he well might.

For Groves to outpoint Froch, he would need to either slug with him like Kessler did or get cute like Ward did. I think most of us picking Froch simply don't see Groves having either of those feats in him, although he is very good and head & shoulders above the domestic class at 168. Unfortunately for Groves he is stuck in limbo, as he is probably still a class below Froch. We shall find out soon enough. :good

The closer this fight get's the more i think it will be a mismatch, between Groves poor build up the split from Booth, also while i'm not a massive Froch fan he is on a total different level to Groves, don't forget Groves won a Close fight with Degale would Froch and Degale be close IMO no i reckon Froch within 8, Groves has been a total dick in the pre fight build up and i hope he get's brought down to earth brutally by Carl
