I'm all in ,having watched the build up,heard the verbals, I'm all in on the saint ,he's calm handled the pressure well and in my opinion won the mind games, don't see a stoppage but only because froch hasa good chin ,but will be tested, groves younger, good movment, better ko percentage ,awkward, and all wrong for froch, this is def my last call, anybody leaning more towards groves now or still froch
What are the odds ? Groves late stoppage, i might go with that, 50 50 is on the fence , just think groves has edged it, and they have sparred, after being droppedby froch , next day he ruined him apparently ,froch has not denied this either, interesting all the way to final bell this one
Mmm, interesting. Its a good match up , groves jab is going be key to this fight, cuts could be a factor as well
The only straw Groves has to grasp at is the h2h common denominators, Glen Johnson & Charles Adamu, as he did outperform Froch in comparison on both counts...but anyone with eyes could see the difference between those versions of Johnson. Night and day, albeit only eighteen months apart. As for Adamu, six years had passed and he clearly had a fork stuck in him. Froch would not only not struggle to a MD with the Johnson that was put in front of Groves, he probably overwhelms him to a British ref stoppage. Froch vs. Adamu II in 2010 or since would be a merciless slaughter. That really is all Groves can brag on, too. I don't think anybody can really be expected to believe Froch couldn't savage all the rest of Groves' opposition. He would've done Smigga the same, disposed of Anderson faster without getting dropped himself, taken Sierra out at least as quickly if not sooner, and probably halted DeGale or at the very least bossed it wide on the front-foot. As for the last ten dance partners Froch has tangoed, good luck to Groves coming out with only two defeats (one razor-thin)...
yet the TS gives groves a 50/50 chance at KO over a guy thats never been knocked out. its ok to make a predicition for an upset win, but to say AND by KO, is just :rofl
Groves is right, Froch struggles with guys who can move and can evade punches well, but Groves isn't one of those himself, not really. He is nowhere near as elusive as Dirrell and Ward...I can see him bothering Carl with jabs and straight right hands, since Groves has looked good on the back foot in the past, and Froch's low guard has ever been one of his weaknesses, but when Carl starts to unleash those combination punches, I can't see George standing up to the weight of the shots. If he's improved dramatically and Froch really has aged, then an upset isn't out of the question, but I can't see it myself. I'm anticipating a mid-round stoppage, but this is the fight game, and anything can happen.
Game plans won't help him, he won't stop Froch from walking him down, getting him to the ropes and putting the pain on him and Bute'ing him:rofl, just put 50 quid on Froch. ts a mismatch as Groves hasn't got the punch resistance to survive the 12 and he isn't going to outbox Carl like Ward did.
