How Does David Tua Do Against Mike Tyson's Opposition Prime For Prime??

I think he KO's a lot of the same guys, though maybe gets outboxed by one along the way. Still, hard to see most of the not falling victim to his power.

 

Probably retires with the exact same record except I could see him losing to Spinks and maybe Ruddock.

Probably sparks Danny Williams though.

 

I think old Larry Holmes could have maybe outboxed him

 

Old Homes would have embarressed him.

I don't even think Tua gets past Tucker.

Well considering Tua was never even able to win a trinket belt I would say he would not do that good. Most overrated fighter ever. He did absolutely nothing in his career for how much he is talked about on here.

 

Old Larry Holmes WOULD HAVE outboxed Tua, and done so easily might I add.


Tua is the single most overrated heavyweight around, the guy just wasn't that good, exposed everytime he stepped up, look what happened against Byrd, Lewis and he lost to Ike Ibeabuchi, another hyped, unproven product.

 

I think Tua's work rate is too low and he is nowhere near the boxer/ athlete Tyson was to run the gauntlet

Plus consider how much better these guys would have performed fighting a guy less intimidating and not as good as Tyson, guys that Tyson intimidated and steam rolled would be tougher for Tua than they would be Tyson

Berbick, Thomas, Williams, Ruddock, Tubbs would all have been interesting with Tua

 

I think Tua would have a loss before reaching the Berbick fight, to be honest.

Tua just wasn't all that he's made out to be.

 

Finally..

The guy had amazing power and I love watching highlights of his knockouts on YouTube. But lets be real, he isn't going through all of Mike Tyson's opponents as easily as Mike did.

 

Tua would have destroyed Lewis and Chris Byrd had he not had his ears boxed off.

 

Lewis already decisioned him.
Holmes would do the same.
Also Holyfield (around Tyson, not the young version) is a very bad matchup for Tua stylewise... Holy would land consistantly and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets TKO.

Tua was almost always outboxed before finally getting KO/TKO win... If Tua needed championship rounds against Maskaev (good fighter, but neither great defence, nor good chin) and should've lost twice to Rahman (the same) then any decent fighter has a chance. For example Ruddock, Tucker or Smith (without "fear factor" of course).

 

Tua didn't have the reach and therefore couldn't really compete with guys who had enough size to keep him off and kept at bay with a good jab. On the other hand, I don't agree at all that Tua was overrated. In fact, I would have loved to have seen Tua and Tyson square off. I never saw Tua really hurt and the man had real power. The fact that he went the distance with Ibeabuchi tells me he probably would have absorbed Tyson's power and KO'd Mike late, ala Buster Douglas. But, unfortunately, we will never know.

The only thing I think Tua lacked at times was motivation. He is a pretty laid back guy.

 

Tyson fans calling Tua the most overrated heavy of all time. Wow. The irony here is just too much.
