I heard the Abel Sanchex interview as well and got a sinking feeling it was going to be Mora. GGG's team must be very confident in him to look good against a stinker style like Mora's.

HBO is going to regret approving Mora. The more active style he emplolyed during his last fight by HBO doctrine, will go out the window the second he steps in with GGG.

It seems like the big fights for GGG will not happen for a while, through no fault of his own.

I didn't think Golovkin's fight in Monte Carlo was going to be broadcast on HBO.

Nothing at all wrong with Mora as a stay busy fight.

One thing about GGG is he doesnt take long layoffs waiting on other guys. He sets a date, invites the best available, and makes the fight, even if he's sick.

Gotta admire his work ethic. And in the end, we always seems to get a highlight reel KO.:yep

    Agreed.

However, his resume is littered with a who's who of BUMs, STIFFs, Tomato Cans and NO HOPERs. To make matters even worse, he's already *31*.

Either his management is inept or they're hiding something...

Yeah. I personally think Quillan is a knockout waiting to happen and wouldn't mind seeing Golovkin bring an end to that hype machine...

I am starting to think if Golovkin wants high profile fights his only option will be to start facing super middleweights. He cannot get any of the other champs at middleweight to fight him so campaigning(sp) in a division where he will be severly undersized may be his only option.

It is not like GGG will get any credit for beating a faded version of Martinez anyway.

    A couple things.

First, he replaced his management/promoters not too long ago. He lives and used to fight mostly in Europe, was ducked by *Sturm for years.. etc etc.. he wasnt happy so he got new management, signed with K2, etc. I forget exactly when this happened but I think was a couple years ago.

Also, hes a pretty "young" 31. He typically doesnt take a lot of fight damage, and he walks into the ring at his walk-around weight so he shouldnt be breaking down his body prematurely like many boxers do.

Plus a lot of his opponents were decent fighters, just recently people only got rated at MW really by losing to Martinez, or beating someone who lost to Martinez, etc.

*ducked by Sturm for years. Some folks here indeed don't know/remember the era where GGG was managed by Universum. N'Dam bailed out twice too.
