I think this fight has stewed quite nicely nothing like two guys that dont like each other. Im really hoping both leave their game plan in the dressing room and that we see a brawl.

I'm surprised Froch didn't say that actually. He had prior warning to as well.

Groves for me, has done everything right in the lead up to this.

    1. Froch is the big name, the fight is PPV.. therefore Groves has to generate interest. Him constantly nit picking at Froch has done exactly that.

    2. He's trying to get in Froch's head, make him pissed off and therefore when Froch does see Groves standing across the ring from him on Saturday night and the chances comes to throw shots.. he'll try to take his head off. That could very well work in Groves favour.

Listen, I've followed Groves from his early days as a pro. He's a clever bloke, everything he's done has been calculated. I just hope it works out for him.

Like I've said before, the smart money is obviously with Froch. But write Groves off and your daft... he may upset a few people come Saturday night - and even if he doesn't, I think he'll have definitely enhanced his reputation.

He'll 100% win a world title in my eyes, whether that happens this weekend is the question.

I find all this game plan talk silly. We all know its a double buff he aint going to stand there and trade with Froch if he did it wont last 3 rounds.

Its also funny how he believes all he has to do is come up with the game plan to win. I could come up with a game plan to beat Froch dont mean I can do it, its not a chess match

Good post. I also get the impression Groves is a clever bloke and has a certain degree of cunning. He's undefeated, he can move and box a bit and he has decent power. He's also around 11 years younger than Froch.
He also has that big fight experience, a winning one against DeGale.

He has not disrespected Froch IMO, I also understand he could have waited or looked to have taken a WBO fight or perhaps a shot at the WBC with Bika instead somewhere down the line.

If he would have wanted to rubbish Carl Froch he could have. Losses to Kessler, Ward, lucky wins over Taylor and Dirrell and that fact that he would never have beat Calzaghe and that he's not really a World champion either (like Froch's quote about Cleverly). Froch is not a Ring magazine champion and he lost to Andre Ward who is the real champion. Froch holds the WBA and IBF titles.

As Bernard Hopkins once said "who's Kessler" ? How good was Bute?

Whilst Froch is a big favourite, I'm actually expecting a good fight from Groves, I'm also curious to see what happens (if) when Groves lands a fast powerful shot on Froch. I reckon Groves has the skills, timing and power to land one on him, perhaps he hurts Carl. Exciting fight.

You would be mad to not pick Froch, but Groves if he comes to fight and implements a game plan then he has some chance, a slim one, but it's not impossible.

I wouldn't say it's a mismatch anyone with half decent boxing skills has a chance of beating Froch.

No decent fighter steps through the ropes thinking he's going to beat. Boxing isn't a sport to be paralysed by fear in, look what happened to Audley.

Groves has some of Booth's ****iness and he looks cool on the outside so The indicators are he believes he can beat Froch.

Froch by mid round KO for me.
