Based on his quality of opposition and performances it is only right.

If he avenges his losses to Bradley and JMM, #3 would be ok. Beating Rios does not make a big difference to Pac's rating.

He isn't even in the top five in his weight class. I'm not surprised a hard hitting boxing authority like SI would have a nice young man like PAC over rated.

In breaking news SI ranks Mike Tyson 4th at heavyweight because he is one of 4 heavyweights whose name they remember.

Have to agree there. Pac will experience the usual "stock surge" and fanboys will go overboard.

Pacquiao would be favored over everybody at 147 except for Mayweather. That is why Pacquiao is #1 at 147 and Mayweather is #1 at 154.

He needs to fight a good middleweight first.

Beating Rios won't change Manny's rank in the p4p standings.

Mayweather is #1 in both divisions, and Pacquiao was favored over Marquez but he got KTFO.

:hatSports Illustrated has been on Top Ranks payroll for years now so it actually isn't surprising that Pacquiao, currently a Top Rank fighter as well their biggest cash cow still at the moment, has him ranked so high in their P.F.P. ratings or division ratings even for that matter.

Does it raise anybody's suspicion when back in November, 2007 Miguel Cotto(Top Rank fighter, at the time) was getting ready for his PPV showdown with former three-time division champion Shane Mosley(GBP fighter) that out of nowhere S.I. decided to create their own witch hunt on Shane by digging up his past usage of PED's when at the same time Shane's court case against B.A.L.C.O. founder Victor Cante had still been pending at the time and also how S.I., or anybody for that matter, did not dig up or question Shane's admitted past PED performance use(from his 2003 rematch with Oscar De Lahoya) during both of his 2006 PPV fights with Fernando Vargas or his October, 2008 fight with Ricardo Mayorga, fighters that were both promoted by Main Events and Don King respectively at the time.

And mind you before Shane Mosley's explosive surprise knockout victory over Antonio Margarito(Top Rank fighter) in January, 2009 S.I. attempted the same exact witch hunt against Shane again digging up his past admitted PED use but this time to no avail it backfired against Top Rank and Margarito, and in more ways than one. :smoke:rasta
