Sorry but the #1 P4P title isn't only a fictional title and means "nothing", it means absolutely everything to any fighter looking to achieve greatness and having that title is a major boost for a fighter's reputation and paychecks.

Bob Arum was doing what any promoter would do and as Mayweather always did anyway. He attacked back and kept going to further promote his fighter, nothing unexpected from Arum there especially when Mayweather was publicly calling his fighter a cheater without any proof whatsoever.

Sure I'm applying my logic which is why I used it as a response in the post you quoted. However, there's a major difference between trash talking to promote a fight and publicly calling someone a cheater. Wasn't Mayweather almost taken to court for his actions and forced to apologize?, when was the last time a promoter PROMOTING a fight the normal/trash talking way was taken to court for his words?

Helping the sport my ass, why wasn't he looking to help the sport in his 40 previous fights?. Why did it become a serious option when Pacquiao was a possible opponent?.

By the way, the P4P#1 title IS a magical position whether you like it or not. If Mayweather hasn't gone far enough to be considered the #1 P4P fighter in the sport and the voice to be heard in the sport no one would have given a damn about his new testing demands. The reason why it caught people's attention is because the #1 P4P fighter or former #1 P4P fighter was demanding it. This title may mean nothing to you but to fighters it means everything otherwise they would openly say they don't give a damn about it rather than continuously call themselves "P4P#1" when speaking or be called P4P#1 when spoken to by the general public and media.

Pacquiao changed the way he negotiated for Rios because he's coming off a KO loss and has nothing to lose anymore. I believe I have a post in the first page regarding Pacquiao's reason to changing his way of negotiating and you openly agreed with it, feel free to read it again.

Scar i see where u coming from but

U keep saying how come Mayweather didn't do blood testing for all the other opponents. How come mayweather think hes juiced doesnt work for you?? Somehow u really think Mayweather did that to duck the fight?? SO who knew WITHOUT A DOUBT That Pacquiao was going to say no?? Like he knows the future?? I'm sorry bro we can disagree but I think that's total BS!! Mayweather thought he was on the juice after watching his power get better and better as he was going up weight classes so he wanted to do a test. Not just on Pac...on him too!!

Him doing it 3 years later for a cupcake named Rios is intresting. Like I stated reasonings for doing it, I think hes doing for his Image and to finally show Mayweather he'll take the test.

all of you are thinking simple logic, that if Canelo wouldve won, then gets a big rematch with Floyd and more $$$$, but now you all see that since Floyd won, both Floyd & Canelo have each 5 PPV's scheduled for 2014 & 2015, and now Oscar has to PPV cash cows.

It made business sense for Oscar to fix Floyd's fight and have Canelo "throw" the fight, so Oscar can still promote both Floyd and Canelo.

    Smart business.

The way I see it, Pac is probably greater, Mayweather is probably better.

Well, they fought same fighters many times.
Cotto: he was drained bad against Pacman, while looks near his prime pre Margarito against Floyd.
I gave Floyd more credit in this one.
Mosley: Floyd definitely fought better Mosley, Pac vs Mosley is as sad as Canelo bs Mosley
Marquez: I think Marquez won all four fights against Pacman, so these fights actually hurt
Pac's legacy in my opinion. Floyd is too big for Marquez, so it is not that meaningful for his legacy.
Delahoya: great for both guys legacy, a bit more in Floyd's side because he was drained bad against Pac, but
PAC is coming up in weight so it is ok. It is DLH fault for accepting the fight anyway.

I think they both have great legacy and fought many meaningful fights.
