I think he would, he was outsmarting Froch at will, even when hurt.

    I stopped reading after this.
I had money on froch to win on points so was biased, I had one round a draw and two for froch - the rest groves.
Not even TJ Ross would score that fight for froch

He had been hurt subtly by Froch quite a few times, Froch working underneath is what started breaking him down, the fight other than the knockdown and shitty stoppage went pretty much how I thought it would, =

If I were Ward, I'd try to get that Froch rematch signed ASAP. :)
I'd love to see him with Groves. That young man impressed me. What a performance!

Groves was wobbly and in trouble. That can't be disputed.

Most fighters in that state lose the fight shortly after. A sizeable minority recover.

It was undeniably an early stoppage, but the most likely scenario would have been a Froch stoppage in the same round.

Possibly, yes. Probably, I don't know. Groves WAS hurt at that point. But he didn't get a chance to recover. NOT because Froch was able to finish him, but because the ref jumped.

We don't know that Froch hadn't completely swung the fight in his favor, and Groves was done for. Maybe to be finished in the very same round.

We also don't know that Groves wouldn't have been able to survive until his head cleared, and he could reassert himself. He may have been able to land something to swing the round, and the fight, back to him. He had been able to do so throughout the entirety of the fight.

Just a bad stoppage, Groves wasn't done for sure. He also wasn't fine, as Froch was all over him at the point of the stoppage.

Calzaghe-Manfredo was a stupid stoppage. But either way, Calzaghe was going to win that fight.

The Groves stoppage was the most disgusting stoppage for a lot of reasons. He had both hands up and was completely of sound mind. Based on the scorecards, they would have robbed Groves anyway. Seriously, this is corruption plain and simple.
