Yes I've been around long enough to know the way boxing is bent changes. Long ago it was the mob, betting, fighters taking a dive etc. Now it's the promoters and the alphabet boys.
So if you know how it 'works', why the outrage? Surely you know the downside and factor that in while you continue to watch, or you have nothing to do with the sport?
Agreed. I think the "Goldenboy" has now turned to ****. He paid off the judges for the Beltran-Burns fight and now he's paid off the Ref and judges for this fight.
Let's all watch the establishment come out and explain why the ref was right to stop the fight. Bankers. Politicians. Jesus - they're all the same. If the ref had let it go on for another 10 seconds??????? Christ - it's boxing. Are we stopping fights now in case at some point in the future one boxer hits the other one really hard & its right to stop the fight 'just in case'???
Been watching for 25 years and now will never pay for another PPV, stoppage stinks of setting up a PPV rematch
Still speechless. My only hope is Manny takes Brandons head off tonight. It might restore some faith in me.
Totally disagree. When the dust settles and he watches this back. The way utterly dominated Froch and won the crowd, he will come back much stronger
Ive got no doubt in my mind. Groves had lost before he even got in the ring, this fight was about money for Eddie Hearn and nothing else.He does not love the sport because if he did he wouldnt stand for these kind of decisions happening on his shows. I dont believe he actually physically pays off the judges and referees, but because his shows are more or less the be all and end all of British boxing at the moment, judges and refs like to give his fighter the benefit on the doubt and every advantage they can in order to secure more work and other privileges from Matchroom. Its killing the sport, fair play is becoming a thing of the past.
