Got to give Froch huge credit for coming back into the fight, but it also has to be said.. it looks like age is catching up with him fast. He should not have allowed Groves to hit him so many times. Ultimately, regardless whether you like Froch or not, he has had an incredible career as a throwback 'fight allcomers' warrior. I can't see Froch's camp allowing him to rematch Ward now, therefore what is left for him now? Personally I think he should cash out on some easier fights and enjoy the fruits of his outstanding career.

Groves showed immense promise, it will be with great interest following his career over the next couple of years.

Doesn't look like he can take what he can dish. Froch is not a power puncher yet he had Groves stumbling around like a ragdoll before the stoppage.

More disciplined version of Groves can take all rounds in the rematch.

Ok- so inexperience prevailed, and unfortunately GG gassed out towards the end after a dominating performance early on. But he lucidly exposed severe Froch shortcomings.

Carl froch looked like a spastic swatting wasps off his face when put under pressure. Groves was constantly countering then following up with shots whilst int he pocket and Carl was absolutely bereft of a defensive answer, or a counter attack. Add the fact Froch has nil head movement - it was a shoe in for GG to tag him, almost at ease.

GG did his homework and studied Froch's pressure, flurried style attack. When Froch came forward to begin on of these onslaughts, Groves came forward with a good solid jab or counter right which negated the attack, at times sparking Froch good. After a while Foch was even scared to move in to attack and seemed lost for the first 3-4 rnds.

Again this gave groves oppurtunity to come forward and counter Froch, where other boxers have a greater punch variety in their arsenal Froch generally lacks a good ''defensive uppercut'', so groves was happy to stay low and spring in and out of the pocket unphased.

I'm definitely non partisan here, and I must say I was bemused at how one dimensional and uncreative a champion like Froch looked tonight. Very surprised. One thing is he's a warrior. Rematch must happpen - this could turn out to be a rivalry for the ages!

Elite fighters use their smarts. If Groves was smart, he would have known all he had to do was hear the final bell and the belt was his. Instead he got stupid. NOT elite, even if it was a bad stoppage. (Which it was)

Plenty of elite boxers were in with froch already and were dealt with,a fights a fight and if your as tough as Froch it negates skill.

The funniest thing about the Sky aftermath is listening to Amir Khan talking about 'powers of recovery'

It looked a bit shady there. Definitely not an Iron Jaw like people here would have you believe.

He's still pretty granite. Was a solid shot and he took some major punishment

Groves was just so fast and accurate. And the timing.

I'm sure Froch had more of a game plan, but it obviously went out the window when the 11-year-younger Groves floored him in the first!

By the way, what friggin' pub do you drink at? :think
