I'm all for protecting fighters from taking too much punishment but that was simply criminal. Groves took a couple of flush punches and the **** REF jumps in even though Groves clearly looked okay and could have easily made it to the end of the fight.

The annoying thing is there's so many what ifs caused by an absolute belled of a referee. Could Groves have held up to that onslaught by Carl and held out for a points win? Was Froch about to send Groves to the canvas? Well done Foster you ***** we'll never know now.

 

They'd have had it 5-3 Froch if the knockdown didn't force their hand on the 1st.
