Watch the Ref side camera angle, which is what the Ref saw. Froch teed off on George's chin with a big right, then a solid left got through on the button. George was one solid punch away from doing the chicken dance, and the Ref could see that as well. He could see Froch was stalking him. It wasn't the end to the fight we wanted to see, but the Ref just extended Grove's career by ten years.
The thing is people are biased towards Froch because he has this 'granite chinned warrior' image, whilst they're clearly PREJUDICED against Groves because he bizarrely has this 'chinny' image. It's grossly unfair - he's been unfairly judged against by the referee (Groves).
One of the fouls though, where the Sky commentators was going mad about it was after Groves punched Froch in the back of the head- Froch had his back to him- and they was saying Froch should;'ve been deducted points :huh
I thought I even seen a smile from Froch in one of the later rounds. I don't agree with the stoppage at all. I'm a fan of both fighters. One thing that can't be denied though is each one of Carl Froch's nuts has a set of brass balls.
Interestingly enough, word on the street early on in his career was that Froch was a nervous character, prone to self-doubt and distraction. A lot of the bravado was building himself up. This was evident against Taylor, but he seemed to overcome it later on, particularly against Bute.
Get a grip on what? A guy who got stopped from a fighter that struggled to pull the trigger? Chavez Jr probably beats both of them... and that isn't saying much.
After 9 rounds of humiliation and a knockdown 2 judges had Groves only 1 ahead ... the 3rd legit had him 5 clear. After 12... those "2" would have done their job. Judges on the night? Barry Hearn, Es***, England. Edward Hearn, Es***, England. Rachel Cordingly, Nottingham, England. Groves was getting bummed whatever happened.
That's something he's earned, not that I think anyone is 'biased' towards him. It seems you're just parroting what is being said by groves himself.
