The only time I have ever seen his legs like that were when Kessler hit him on the nose in the first fight, and this shot was clearly worse. http://youtu.be/LYiopgtwIJw?t=2m36s
Yep. It's difficult to land if someone is quicker than you because they move and counter you. It's difficult to avoid someone's shots if they are quicker than you because the punches are too quick. And yes Froch is predictable and has a very poor defense.
Even with a fair stoppage I can't see Groves lasting 3 and a half more rounds. The onslaught was on and Groves was tiring badly.
Kessler got him again in the 11th round of the rematch with the same type of short right hand. That's the first thing I thought of when Groves was talking about landing 2 right hands in the press conference. I've always said the only time I've seen Froch look hurt was against Kessler. Everyone always says Taylor did it when he dropped Froch, but I never thought Froch was really hurt by Taylor. Froch has said himself that he was hurt by Robin Reid. George Groves got him tonight though.
Carl had zero respect for groves power, none. on top on that he never got passed being dropped hard in round one. He wasn't right after being dropped. He lacked aggression because of this which was frochs key to victory..
he looked ok to me. Not out on his feet, and most of Carl shots werent landing cleanly. He may have went down, but there wasnt that long left in the round. Less than a minute i think. Either way though, with the scorecards in these Matchroom fights now a days, it seems impossible to best Hearns fighters on the scorecards. It was a fix for me. One man was robbed, and one man was given a win when he shouldnt have. Simple as that
As daft as it may seem I still think Groves still had a good chance to stop Froch, I think he would have survived that onslaught personally. Everytime he landed the right he was buzzing Carl, fights like that make it cruel to have a winner.
All Jim Watt does is see one fighter is doing well (when Groves knocked down Froch) then makes his mind up that 'that' fighter will win, then doesn't let go of it for the rest of the fight whatever happens.
Pretty big allegation suggesting that they were bought. It's really a fight I could have done with on mute because the commentators and fans can have a big effect on whether punches seem to land or not. Surely if it's a fix then Froch would have been up on the scorecards?
Exactly the more he got hit, the stronger he was getting. That chin is still steel reinforced concrete with a few layers of double glazed glass for good measure. Plus he's getting old, he's no spring chicken, was never that quick and can be mighty crude at times, but he still managed to beat the young hungry dangerous lion. The guy picked himself up from a knock down, shaky legs, dug in and by mid way he was starting to come on, against a very dangerous fighter. Showed a great chin, lots of heart and fighting spirit. What a warrior.
he was 3 down maximum, you lot obviously get brainwashed by the terrible sky commentators who comment on what they want to see not what's actually happening. froch would've ko'd groves in that round or the next without a doubt
Only one man landed cleanly all night. Only one man had the other on his backside. Yet all talk is off the other man finishing the job. LOL
