Groves was rocked way more against Kenny Anderson & recovered that night, he wasnt given the opportunity tonight. People paid alot of money & deserved to see a proper outcome.
It sort of reminded me of Lewis v Klitschko with the cheering of the 'loser' and the winning managing to somehow get out of there with his titles after being clearly exposed. Will Froch want anymore of that? with his warrior rep he'll feel he's got to take a re-match, but theres far easier paydays out there & he'll aged abit more after taking them clean shots, warrior or no warrior.

All credit to Groves, he outclassed Froch all the way to the 8th round in every department but I agree with the original poster that Froch would have stopped Groves inside the distance, I have no doubt.

Before he died Manny Steward said Froch is so good because he believe in himself that much that he doesn't even know his limitations as a boxer.

I expect the same type of fight in he rematch with the same result but I really think Froch needs to call it a day soon because winning fights by basically walking through punches isn't good for his health regardless how tough he is.

If you actually look from not the refs view the other side, Froch did push Groves away slightly into the ref, then the ref ends up with Georges head in his arm somehow.

I think the stoppage was unfair to both fighters, but I do think groves would have been stopped to be honest. Congrats to groves he proved he was worthy and is world class. a very good version of groves fought a bad version of froch . I don't see froch making the same mistakes again and would expect froch to stop groves in the summer rematch.

I don't know why so called fans would boo froch , takes a beating and still keeps going in a very tough fight. The fighter should not be booed for the refs doing bad form if you ask me

Bollocks to those that say groves wouldv got stopped - he was immediately in the refs face when he stopped it. He didnt even give him a standing count.

    Robbery. End of.

Regardless He should have been allowed to continue. If you say that Groves stoppage was justified then Froch should have been stopped in the 1st.

We will never know now but there was evidence in the 8th and 9th that groves was slowing down and getting tagged more. Froch getting a legit stoppage in the next 3 rounds would not have surprised me. It was looking a possibility at that point. harsh on groves though was the actual stoppage.

Looking at the slo-mo, it was just the way his head was lolling around so much with the last few shots. Ridiculous stoppage - but with the rest of the round of that I think it would have cemented one of the great boxing comebacks. Massive shame for both.

Now Froch looks tarnished, when he could have had a true great comeback.

I think Groves would have recovered and won the fight or at least got robbed on the scorecards.

Pauls Smith was raging at the ref when Groves KO'd him too.

Impossible to say what would of happened.

Groves was wobbled, but.... it's an world level super middleweight title fight, against an experienced and proven world champion - Groves was always going to have a crisis or two.

Personally I do think Froch would of stopped him in the coming rounds, but just as easily Groves lands a big one and turns the tide again.

I don't want to criticise a referee for stopping a fight a punch too early, but that was a horse **** stoppage. Foster, by his body language, seemed to realise he had made a misjudgement pretty soon after jumping in. Groves, whilst rattled, still seemed clear headed and steady legged when protesting to the referee.

Great fight, horse **** ending, that must ruin it for both fighters and the fans alike

I see him taking shots but still having the wherewithal to protect himself. Was his first crisis moment of the fight and was given the opportunity to try and get through it.
