C'mon dude. Don't overplay your valid point. Froch-Groves II needs to happen. To call Froch a coward should it not is a bit much. Put yourself in his shoes. Anyway, Carl was the one that called for it! I reckon it'll happen.
I'm saying he's a coward if he goes off and takes a different fight in its place. Contrary to what I may have said in the immediate aftermath, I respect if he calls it a day. I'm disappointed in him, I suppose. I've been a fan for years but his battling, c-ock-sure nature has taken on a nasty, monstrously egotistical bent of late and I'm pretty disgusted at how this entire event has gone down.
What makes you think George will learn from this and Carl won't? Froch was the one coming on strong, the last four rounds were his to take. Is Groves going to fight more conservatively and wear him down? Is he going to go out bombing early?
Because GG has never faced a world class opponent before Carl, and then went into and battered the No.2 in the division to bits for the majority of the fight. He KNOWS that, not only can he hang at that level, but he can TOY with the second best in the division. Carl ain't learning ****. His ego is too big to allow it AND he is too set in his ways now to alter his style. I honestly think that GG will bomb him out within 3 next time. Carl's chin is only going to get worse, he's only going to age, he's only going to dread facing George... GG is going to get stronger, fitter, have more self belief in himself...
Not as PPV they couldn't. Degale hasn't done much. They're saving that for when one of them gets a world title.
Mmmm I think the demand for Froch-Groves II is leviathan in comparison my man. Not going to lie, I'd still tune in for Froch-DeGale, but the hype around a rematch on twitter and what have you. The masses may not always know what they are talking about, but they know a good rematch when they see it :yep
Some of Groves' movement was top class aswell, far better than I expected. A pleasure to watch at times.
As part of an undercard...way different, but fair enough. I think in the future this is how they're aiming for it to go, though, and I don't think Degale will really step up ever...
All interesting points BB. I think Carl will do the same, and get a legitimate stoppage next time out. Personally, I think we saw the very best of Groves tonight, and Froch will not make the same lackadaisical mistakes second time around. That being said, I predicted Carl would survive rocky moments to win on points tonight, so what do I know!
Had to check Boxrec - you are right in terms of morality and correctness, it was... but I think on paper at the time Clev against Kuziemski for the WBO light heavyweight was top of the bill. Obviously any viewing interest at the time was in the grudge fight.
