Serious question about remarks after opponents fight Pacquiao

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Classic Boxer, Nov 24, 2013.

  1. So Mosley said that it was Pacquiao's power that really threw him off and not his speed.

Yet Rios says the exact opposite.

How come certain opponents will say stuff that contradict other fighters?

It could be that maybe Mosely never fought someone with power equivalent to Pacs. Who did Rios fight that was as fast and exhibited movement like Pacs? I guess it's all relative to the fighters experience or they underestimated Pac in the match...

Because some people are fast and not as powerful so maybe mosely thought what he did about pacman and then slower but powerful (maybe not as mosely) rios saw more of the speed as a factor

    And maybe that's just how their s h I t works

Because peoples perceptions and interpretations of their opponents are relative to their abilities and experiences. Mosley is a fast boxer whos been in there with fast boxers so speed was not surprising, but mannys concussive power was considering he was the small dude. Rios is like a clump of molasses and been hit with huge shots but never witnessed speed and athleticism in the ring like mannys.
