Yes read that this morning & just going on what was said last night certainly deserved to be up on all 3.:good
You truly are a massive ****. Groves showed you up to be the know-nothing twat we all suspected you to be and you still can't behave with any class.
My point is people are getting carried away focusing on the negative and seemingly forgetting what an amazing fight we have seen. The ref on balance stopped the fight too soon. As you mention judging is subjective, and although I too had Groves winning, it was not a walk over, Froch had, had his moments. As for corruption in the sport; as I said it is boxing! Boxing is as much about the politics as it is about the fighting. Surely people who go to the effort of commenting on a boxing forum realize this? Look at the sports history; it is as clean now as it has ever been. Boxing is not perfect, we saw that last night, but we also saw a brilliant fight and people will be doing the fighters a disservice if all that is focused on is the politics rather than the sport of the fight. We did also see two warriors give it their all last night, as well as the controversial ending.
Why? It was not a farce, it was a brilliant fight with a controversial ending. It is a win for boxing, a win for the fans and if Groves gets a rematch, a win for the fighters as well because they will get another excellent pay day.
Unfortunately Hearn, Froch & dodgy decisions go hand in hand. Froch should now have another 4 losses on his record :yep
Tbooze you talk absolute **** Disgusting stoppage they were clearly trying to rob groves all night froch should of had points deducted and it was 76-75 Eddie Hearn is a crook Groves is world class froch is jank
Well I said the stoppage was controversial; but as the fight did not go to the points the scorecards are a bit of an afterthought. I have little time for Promoters, no matter who they are. But the sport is as Capitalist as it comes so they will always be a factor, and yes they will be interested in making as much money as they can. I am up for the Socialist Revolution if you want Brother/Sister, but sadly I think we are in a minority, most seem to want Capitalism in this Country. Groves showed he is capable of fighting at a world class level, by giving a world class operator hell. If you think Froch is 'jank' then you kind of cheapen Groves performance...
Worst stoppage I have ever seen. Foster couldnt wait to jump in. He favoured froch all night and didnt deduct points after froch landed three blows after he called break. looks like a stitch up!
It's not the worst decision I've ever seen by a referee. However, most of the really bad refereeing comes at domestic/euro level. For a world title fight, it has to be up there with very worst stoppages. Groves was hurt, but he is winning the fight. I've never seen a world title fight waved off the first time a fighter is wobbled. It is clear Groves wasn't 'that' badly hurt by his reaction to the stoppage. He seems steady legged and clear headed. Foster also looks like he has realised he has made a boo boo. Foster was terrible last night, not just for the stoppage, but for what he let Froch get away with.
If the corrupt ref hadn't stopped it then the corrupt judges would have robbed Groves anyway. The poor guy never had a chance. It's things like this that make me want to turn my back on the sport.
Well you have had plenty of chances in the past, you will with little doubt have plenty of chances in the future. If something like this upsets you so much perhaps you should say adios to boxing, because if the excellence of that fight does not override the disappointing ending then boxing may not be for you.
The thing is I support and respect the fighters for putting on fights, I just don't want to put money into the pockets of corrupt, cheating promoters, sanctioning bodies, refs and judges.
Problem is that is always going to be the way. I have mentioned on this thread a number of times, but Boxing is arguably the most Capitalist driven sport in the world. It only works as a profession because of money. And as we know from recent times, that sort of thing leads to a massive corruption of the ruling elite. The real issue is if this corruption was dealt with, I fear the moral argument that the sport should not be (on safety grounds), would be an easy way to conclude the problem for any authority told to investigate and resolve the corruption in the sport...
