I'm beginning to have my doubts about his punch resistance after last night.

    Others thoughts?

If anything it's improved. he took a flush shot right on the point of the chin and got straight back up and walked through similar shots for the remainder of the fight. Froch has a superhuman chin and make no mistake.

    his chin makes him.

Without the chin Froch would get KO'd more than Amir Khan. He's so open.

One of the best chins in the sport, groves is a huge puncher and froch was eating the shots.

Zakman, you old fox, you should be able to see that Froch chin is shown signs of hair fractures. One big punch from serious power puncher will launch the detonation which can NOT be stopped.

He was hit flush repeatedly the entire fight with power shots. He has one hell of a beard.

See, this is why I'm somewhat conflicted and wanted to see what others thought. Whenever a fighter with a previously solid chin hits the deck, it deserves examination. It could indicate some madibular deterioration, or it could be what you suggest, that it simply provides more evidence of "superhuman" punch resistance, as you put it.

    Thanks for the input!:good

Yeah, like I said, this is the other side of the argument. It could be that Froch's chin is indeed beginning to show "hair fractures."

I'm kind of on the fence at this point, though. I think we need more evidence. Personally, I'd like to see a rematch with Groves and see what happens. If Froch were to hit the deck again, it might show your POV to be correct.

The shot that put him down, was a shot that people say 'would have KO'd anybody' after a fighter gets KO'd by it. most fighters would have been KO'd by that shot, I can't think of another 168 fighter that would have got up from that whilst being able to continue.

Zakman you are meant to be an experienced chin checker, that should include analyzing the power of the guy doing the punching as well as the guy getting dropped by the punch, Froch literally ran into a big punch from a big puncher, the fact he got up from that proves his chin alone, Groves hits like a mule

Well said, Groves has pole-axed guys with shots like that
