I've always thought Froch was an arrogant bell end. I'm just glad the country now really sees it. He had a chance after the fight to simply say, 'it was a great fight, maybe the stoppage was premature but we gave everyone a great fight' but instead he went into that 7 minute, felt like a lifetime rant. One thing that it strengthened for me was the toughness of the man. He shouldn't of even been there to be in that situation past round 6 never mind 9. Both mentally and physically he should of been done. Just a shame he chooses to be an absolute bell end. Groves might not feel it now he has propelled himself into the top super middleweights in the world. The way he has conducted himself afterwards he has ingrained himself into the British Publics hearts.
The promoters in american should be trying to snap groves up, the slickest white guy in town, that argubly beat froch alot better then ward and was punishing carl froch and bullying him for 8 rounds
I can't see it either think Rob and Eddie will sit Carl down and watch the fight and tell Carl he was lucky and so many times u can go to the well. They will prob make GG a silly offer which he will turn down just so they can say they tried to make the fight happen. Froch has one more fight vs Kessler who Eddie said himself is made for Froch top up the bank balance then retire. That's my gut feeling hope and prey I'm wrong
Agree, especially if he wants to become a international superstar like froch. Didn't they promote his fight with Sierra??
Very well put together and insightful post. I'd love to see George on Boxnation against Stieglitz but me thinks George has bigger fish to fry!
If Groves can put on an Irish accent to go with his red hair and freckles he'll make a packet in America. Stateside is where the real money is.
If he went to the states theres a danger he'll end up being billed as the bad guy like he has been for this fight. Yanks love a Brit villain and that isnt Groves, he played a role for this fight and eventhough all he did was speak truthfully he did to antagonise and get under the skin of Froch. I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt sign with Matchroom, as much as they tried to hide it the Hearns showed their Froch bias in patches. Will be interesting to see the dynamic in the build up if he did, would the Sky promotion machine be so Froch-geared this time round, I very much doubt it.
Groves didn't sound happy with Sky after their use of DeGale and Woodhall in the pre fight role play. Groves might say that he'll sign with Matchroom but only if he is treated as number one thus annoying Froch. For that reason I suspect Hearn pass him up.
Matchroom is the best option for George by a mile in my opinion. Eddie will already be sensing George v Callum Smith a few years down the line...knows it won't happen if he signs with *****
