I saw that - and thought yours summed up everything I wanted to say a lot more succinctly!!

I don't get the hate, I think people do it for their own entertainment to wind other people up to be honest!!

The OP makes good points but does talk absolute bollocks at one point...

"Froch gave Groves the chance he wasn't given himself"

He was his mandatory challenger, he had no choice! Your fooling yourself if you think Froch would of given Groves the chance out of the kindness of his heart

Froch must have been on auto pilot since that shot in the first. The guy is bloody brilliant. As is Groves.

All the hate towards Froch is misdirected. Anger and hate are due but it shouldnt be aimed at Carl Froch.

Watch again.. They had shaken hands BEFORE the post fight interview...

Also, watch Groves's head lolling about. Froch's head - not matter how many punches he took - was not swivelling around like that.

Calzaghe vacated the belt that Froch was mandatory for. Steve Collins vacated for Calzaghe (who I don't know if he was mandatory).

Could have vacated and gone after Ward. Or another title.

Froch was Calzaghe's mandatory challenger too, Calzaghe had a choice...

While all boxers talk ****... Froch (along with khan) make you wonder if they have taken too much punishment. Check griffs videos for the pre fight hype on sky and the weigh in interviews. Froch was saying crazy **** like "if groves aknowledged he w as fighting a legend and was going to get beaten then i would give him respect... But he's a chump"

Then he was spouting **** on the microphone while groves was giving his interview. The worse thing is, he actually beleives the **** he talks whereas others like groves and mayweather just hype fights or are trying to get under the skin as part of a gameplan. So he would genuinely not want to shake hands after a fight. He was making a big thing of how he dropped groves in sparring, well he will now have to deal with the fact he was dropped heavy in the fight.

Does froch seriously think groves should have gone into a fight now beleiving he can win and facing some unbeatable legend? He's bordering on delusional... I suppose it's that beleif in himself that allows him to fight the way he does... One thing is for sure... He will fight for a rematch... An ego that big won't take all this **** he's copping lightly.

And froch does deserve it... It comes with the terroritory. I remember how froch would moan about khan being the "superstar" but not deserving it and how khan was fighting on PPV but he was on obscure channels like primetime etc. khan and others who are more well known like mayweathers have all taken a lot of **** on social media and from the public... Along with the bigger paydays.... Froch will now need to learn to do the same... Now that he is thee PPV star he always craved to be. It comes with the terrortory. Knowing froch it won't sit nicely with him being boo'd out of the ring and getting abuse on twitter... He will want to prove he is better than groves

So you read it all, read this whole thread and had nothing to contribute other than that?

    Thanks.

Agree with everything except the highlighted bit, and you make a very good point...it's not like Khan doesn't get his fair share of stick, fair play - still unwarranted though!

No, I don't prefer footballers reading from a script. I agree that froch says what he thinks, but what froch thinks is absolute nonsense and therefore I can't respect him for any of it. It just makes him look a bitter twat. Before the fight he was accusing Groves of being disrespectful and childish, but his behaviour was far worse. If you are going to be a ****, be a ****. But don't accuse someone of being rude when you have been far worse. I can't stand hypocrites and Froch is probably the worst I have encountered in professional sport in recent years, but sorry, double standards don't apply to him because he's "a warrior" and he's "proven imself in ta ring".

Can't wait for groves to end his career in the rematch by brutal KO.

Nobody on here accept myself and a few others gave Groves a chance and now they are swinging off his nuts and getting onto froch. That is undoubtedly poor and fickle on their part, but my grievances with Froch as a person were held long before this fight. Though inside the ring I won't be knocking his courage or determination.

Carl is a warrior no doubt, but he has to be completely delusional to convince himself that that was a legit stoppage... 20,000 spectators and pretty much a unanimous opinion from boxing writers fans etc is that the stoppage was BS. That's the issue, he cannot seem to openly admit that the ending to the fight was anything but a fair result. Deep down I think Froch knows the truth, it is impossible to ignore the overwhelming public opinion and would take an incredible amount of mental gymnastics to continue in his delusion.

If Froch came out with some grace and class after the fight I'm sure he wouldn't be copping it so bad... It's the fact that he has been completely dismissive, rude, arrogant, egotistical and downright delusional both before and after the fight is what has really grated with me.

I used to be a big Froch fan and I had him as one of my favourite fighters, but since Saturday that has completely switched and would be favouring groves heavily in any rematch.
