So where do we rank him now?

I think he's easily number 2, just behind froch and if the fight wasn't stopped prematurely then who knows, George would be top of the rankings.

The white David Haye will hopefully be around for years and give us plenty of great matches to come in the future. He has the potential to be an all time great.

For me he is ranked number 2 in the SMW division and probably top 3 in the UK. He is above Froch after his fight with Groves.

The record books says he lost to froch so you can't have him above froch.

For the time being at least, but we've all seen how good Groves is and he is a better boxer than Froch, despite the loss. Its just a formality now.

Groves proved a lot to me in his fight with froch... But there are still some unanswered questions. In particular his boxing brain and also his ability to recover and impose his will - something froch has shown in abundence. Overall froch is still top of the pile showing amazing will, determination and punch resistence... Groves has the skill to be P4P number 1 in britain, but he needs these other qualities to move ahead of froch...

Overall groves is up there. His gameplan was good to a certain extent but when he isnt fighting a guy whose defence is blocking punches with his chin and faces someone with as much skill as him... How will he fare?

Down to experience, after al he is still only 25. But agreed, if he didn't engage so much so late on, then he would have gone away with a comfortable UD.....(though the cards were dodgy)

Was his first time on the big stage and he handled it tremendously well

Next time he won't make the same mistakes

Agree, needs to improve his gas tank as well, has the same provlem haye has. It's a very high energy style which needs a lot of gas in the tank. It's the reason haye volume when down once he went to HW. Trying to keep gas in reserve.

His ability to recover and impose his will is still in question?

I thought this was answered conclusively in his gut check against Anderson.

I would like to argue that p4p rankings are based on opinion and intangible evidence.

We all know what we saw on Saturday.......Froch getting schooled. It was massively crazy for Groves to get involved the way he did rather than boxing him but there is no way he would do that again.

If the fight comes around again Groves will be sharper, stronger and in a even better mental state than he entered the first fight. He will of watched the tapes with Paddy and will be even more clinical in the rematch.

Where as Froch will be a little older and the one with the questions in his head. Am I to old? This could be my last fight?.......He couldn't even remember getting knocked down in the first fight.

At the end of the day p4p is about opinion and I feel I know that George is better than Froch.

    Exactly, lists are subjective.

I could never understand how people had Clev so far ahead of Bellew when IMO clev at best got a draw out of their fight.

Am I going to rate Bradley of Pacman after their fight just because corrupt judges call it one way. No way.

I rate who I (taking into account majority informed opinion as well) see as the victor regardless of the judging.
