What went completely unnoticed and (often does) is no matter how many rounds you are winning, it doesn't change how taxing the fight is physically for the person WINNING the rounds. Groves was clearly ahead but Froch (by design or not) had Groves working at an incredibly intense pace, while also taking the odd big shot. So the cards may register as a dominating win but Groves body was in a real fight. Too often people look at the cards and forget that the person winning still has many rounds to survive. If you haven't got a KO in boxing then nothing is certain.
I'm more upset at the scorecards than I was with the stoppage 76-75 my arse. I think that should convince Groves to go a different route. Walk away from Matchroom. And Hern.
Lol How could you watch rd's 2,3(+5 or 6 can't remember) and 8 and give it to Groves? is Froch feather fisted now? do his combinations to the head, the uppercuts on the inside, the combo's to the body that land clean all not count, Groves scraping Froch or landing one or two right hands trump all the work Froch does in the round, because from what i saw Froch was working the entire round, Groves threw here and there I think the knockdown had people too high on Groves, alot of times Froch would land and it would seem noone noticed, Groves lets his hands go(which wasn't much most rounds) and the crowd goes crazy, even when he missed every punch, Jim Twat 'OMG another right hand glances past the back of Froch's neck, what a boxing lesson Groves is giving him! OMG!' Jim Twat was on Groves nuts the second the first bell rang 'He just exudes such confidence' Groves was losing the 1st too before the KD P.S before anyone thinks of responding to my post, rewatch the fight, or ewatch those rounds
While most lot saw Groves 'outsmart' and 'dominate' Froch Froch was cleverly breaking Groves down with heavy combo's, esspecially those body shots
:deal I just watched it again, he was winning round 1 til the KD, won round 2 in my view and was continually getting to him. Turn the commentary off and it's an awful lot closer than people think in my opinion.
1 - Groves 10-8 2 - Groves 3 - Groves 4 - Groves 5 - Froch 6 - Groves (the most 1 sided round of the fight) 7 - Groves 8 - Groves (if the ref had done his job Rs 1-8 Froch would have been on a final warning and lost a point in this round as well) 9 - Didn't finish, so didn't score it - obviously would have been Froch. I had Groves 8 rounds ahead going into the 9th. Awful scoring.
I think Eddie said in the post fight presser that he has George 2 rounds up. No way can you honestly beleive that.
finally some one who understands the toughness of boxing the fight aint won till its won , them last rounds are called championship rounds for a reason
Its a bit odd that the only 4 people in the building who thought Carl was doing well were the people officiating the fight, innit?
