Froch is a good fighter, but not an ATG. Why are you comparing him to one?

I'll give you that. Still wasn't at SMW. At what weight does Froch fight at?

    Styles make fights.

Roy carried guys and cruised to victories.

But you'd have to assume that Froch would have gone to Roy, especially with a large vocal support behind him.

That knockout of Tate was beautiful, and I love the Vinny Paz fight, because of the animosity. That 6 punch combo, whilst walking forward to finish him was something else. Who else has ever knocked someone out with 6 punches like that, with two uppercuts, one from each hand?

    Incredible stuff.

Who else has ever knocked someone out with a lead left uppercut? (Griffin II)

The Sun reading casuals would have gone nuts seeing things like that.

This doesn't exactly help your case. There should be an IQ test before folk are allowed to register.

Again, that's nothing to go on.

Roy played with guys like Hall etc.

He was more than content to cruise past guys.

But we all saw what happened to Griffin, when he was in seek and destroy mode.

    Many guys survived against Roy.

But if you pressured him, and really tried to fight him, he was going to try and get rid of you.

    Why not?

How many times do you think Froch could get tagged like he did against Groves, before he didn't get back up, or the ref stopped it?

It would have been more than possible.

As Loudon alluded to this, it all depends on RJJs mindset. He had the ability to go for the KO as times, but prefered not too. I agree with you pacman that it would be a 12 round shut-out. But if Froch stoked the fire and got RJJ pissed, then a KO would be a possibility.

But the difference is, Froch probably wouldn't have been looking to survive, he'd no doubt have kept going at Roy.

I respect your opinion, but I don't see Roy pot shotting him. I think he'd have tried to get rid of him.

I like Froch but there's no way he sees the final bell against RJJ. Slow feet, low left hand and poor head movement means Roy would land at will. If a 168 RJJ was around now and this fight was announced, I would bet everything I owned on Roy and I would spend the winnings before the fight even took place.

fight would have never been made. Jones liked to fight easy fights against America's finest Civil Servants. Jones has no interest in making any challenging fights.
