in the last exchange he gets hit with some huge right hands, watch the refs face he looks at groves concerned through the whole of the last exchange ... its one right hand, 2nd right hand, 3rd right hand...

    going going gone

Groves was so brave and went out on his shield....yes defenceless

Come on. Froch was literally defenseless the entire fight. He took bomb after bomb after bomb. I forget which round it was but his head was snapped back over and over like he was a damn pez dispenser and was followed by shaking the cobwebs out numerous times. He was buzzed so many times....and groves gets in a little trouble once, while fighting back, trying to evade, not on wobbly legs, and the ref stops it. It is clearly a horrible stoppage.

Lol at this cherry picked footage. Use all the available footage to come to a conclusion. George was clearly not that badly hurt. He didn't go down, he knew what was going on and protested to the ref. He threw a punch or two literally 2 seconds before the ref grabbed him. Groves is right about the ref being suckered in by the perception that Froch is some iron chinned he-man and Groves is fragile and chinny. If the roles were reversed and Froch had given Groves a beating for most of the fight, would the ref have jumped in and stopped it as soon as Froch hit the ropes for a few seconds and Groves landed a couple of shots? Would anybody be saying it was a good stoppage?y I doubt it.

If Khan, who is terrible defensively, can evade Maidana spending half of their fight on the backfoot after being knocked senseless and then winning well Groves certainly could. I believe that if he had gotten through the round he would have either stopped Carl to prove a point or gone on to a slim points win (despite winning the fight wide).

Corruption was rife here, from the close cards to the bullsh!t stoppage by a ref who had 'liked' the prediction of a ninth round win for Froch publicly on Facebook 24hrs before the fight and jumped in with an MMA style headlock to prematurely end the fight.

    Shades of Calzaghe!

LOL, I don't know why there is all this fuss about British early stoppages. At least half of Calzaghe's fights in England were premature stoppages, many even more questionable then this one. England has a long history of cheating to win.

He actually gets pushed/pulled off balance and into the referee. At first I thought it was a punch, but Froch actually pulls him behind the head with a right hand.

If he was out on his feet he wouldn't have been able to immediately protest about the stoppage. He was hurt, but looked more hurt than he was because he was bent over.

Good stoppage. If it hadn't been stopped, Groves probably would have won.

explain to me where any trainer will tell a fighter to turn his back on his opponent in a ring :bart fighters do this when looking for a way out or hurt badly ,
right here is where i will explain he had his back to froch no defence in place and when the ref took him back across the ring he saggs in to the ropes had this not happened froch would have still been on him through out this period , groves was superior through out apart from two minor but major factors at championship level chin and stanima

Groves was amazing, but Froch's will was better.

Or off balance and slightly stunned.

Groves' chin was fine. He's not the one that hit the deck. Groves' stamina is fine, they were both understandably tired.

Grove was saved by the ref from a brutal KO.
