As soon as i saw id been quoted i was expecting a "You dont know **** about boxing" comment haha I cant see how people can look at the matter any differently unless they hate Calzaghe and love Froch or vice versa , only way i can see Froch's being better than Joe's is rematching ward and beating him and then going clearing out lightheavy and ruling for a few years... and even then i doubt itd top joes because i dont think lightheavy is that strong a division .
he doesnt deserve a rematch!! he got a boxing clinic on him!! Man...i thin froch fans are the worst...they are really delusionals with him.
now Carl had added Groves, the next young best thing to his scalp, instead of avoiding him at age 36 like Calzaghe does, its clearly froch.
LOL, Froch surpassed Calzaghe a long time ago early in the Super 6. Froch has received a few gift decisions in his favor in his career like Groves and Dirrell. But Calzaghe made a career out of getting gift decisions by English Refs. LOL, England has Frank W., the greatest hype man and ref buyer in recent boxing history.
It's getting real close and if Groves goes onto achieve great things, Froch's resume will be even stronger. The big difference between Froch and Calzaghe is that Froch has taken far more tough fights - Calzaghe was a talented guy but he achieved less than he could have, imo.
Froch has a much better resume then Calzaghe imo, and thats what you get when you fight the best, but Calzaghe was more skilled then Froch. But Carl has a better punch and a better chin thats for sure.
exactly its plain daft, Joe would have run from ward and hid with the unwanted wbo belt. he clearly wasn't interested in engaging Ward once he was emerging as a world challenger, DESPITE fighting a series of less than able challengers for ten years, or even froch the british champion was FAR above the standard of Joe's usual opps. Hypocritical Joe, but he did the right thing to keep his record clean of defeats. 46-0 sounds much better than 48-2.
two wins that any SMW champions today would be embarrassed taking on. froch would rather jump in the channel than go down to joes level and face s2s roy jones...that **** he would never pull. he faced the next young challenger, which is the type of challenge that Joe ran from.
In my opinion Froch's best win is Kessler, with Bute and Abraham also being some of the great wins on the resume. There are also Johnson, Taylor, Pascal and Reid that I rate pretty highly. And also, he has 2 questionable wins over Dirrell and Groves. However, those are still wins on the paper. As for Joe Calzaghe, his best win is also Kessler. However, his signature performance was against Jeff Lacy, which I also rate highly together with a victory over Hopkins. His other good wins are Eubank, Roy Jones, Bika, Reid and Mario Veit. He has also notable wins over Woodhall and Brewer. So to sum it, they both have a lot of good wins and victory over Kessler as their best win (Imo). The difference is that Calzaghe beat Kessler when Mikkel was at his best. Kessler then went to beat Carl Froch at Super Six, later losing to Froch when he was way past his best. Froch also lost to Andre Ward which makes 2 defeats on his resume, while Joe Calzaghe retired undefeated. And as far as I can remember, Froch was never the number 1 guy in the division. After Joe moved up, Kessler was considered #1 until he was defeated by Andre Ward. Also, Calzaghe had a 10 years long championship run at SMW, then moved up to Light Heavyweight and become the champion there too. When it's all said and done, there's no doubt in my mind that Calzaghe's career and legacy are way above Froch's. Not in the same league, at least in my opinion.
What a ridiculous comment Calzaghes resume is far greater. Frochs best win is faded Kessler who Calzaghe beat when an undefeated unified champ and prime. Calzaghes win over Eubank is better than Frochs win over Kessler, Calzaghes win over Kessler is better than Frochs win over Bute, Calzaghes win over Mitchell is better than Frochs win over Abraham. It goes on. Pascal, Dirrell and Johnson did nothing at SMW and Froch beat faded boiled down Johnson by Mdec yet Calzaghe beat Sheika who beat prime Johnson, not to forget Calzaghe also has wins over other SMW champs to go with Kessler, Eubank, Mitchell in Brewer, Veit, Reid, Woodhall, Bika, Jones, Lacy. Frochs resume is nowhere near that
