    I don't know why Alvarez-Golovkin hasn't been seriously discussed

GGG would hospitalize GG and would do the same with Froch

Those two are one or two leagues beyond GGG, the most feared beast in boxing

If the money is right there is no reason why he wouldn't, but we all know that, sans a big pay day, he is staying at 160.

I think groves is to smart a fighter to get beaten by Golovkin with the height advantage.

Yes, at 160. But at 168, he's an average fighter - Ward beats him, Froch eats him and GG sends him on the backfoot and kills him.

Height advantage is small 1-2 inches. Weight advantage on the other hand I'm not sure. I have no idea what weight Groves enters the ring at. Froch and others have hurt Groves so GGG probably could. Not sure how GGG handles Groves' power. He handled Stevens' power fine and he's a big puncher, has KO'd guys at 168 but I think he took the sting out of Stevens' punches by hurting him early on.

How many 160lb'ers of note has Golovkin beaten?

And it's nothing more than TALK until he actually gets in the ring with a super middle...

Why on earth ESB posters measure boxers exclusively by height and not weight/reach?

Not much size difference between those two at all.

Seeing Groves knockdown and hurt Frotch was an eye opener - compare that to Carl's previous fights where he didn't get hurt like that against Ward, Kessler etc

I think either guy could win that fight, pick em

Groves needs more seasoning before he goes after bigger fish like ward and 3G

Froch has a great chin, but he only has power in his hands at long range. He has almost no torque on his body shots in particular at mid or close range, his arms move like a mechanical marching-soldier. At long range where his long arms have plenty oh time to whip up momentum he is a beast.

Groves indeed needs some seasoning before he faces someone more versatile but it seems apparent he has the talent and natural power to be a potent force.

At the MW+ level, one gallon of milks worth of body weight is not going to make much difference in terms of punch absorption or force generation.

People talk about MW "of note" but completely forget that planets orbit the stars, and MW has had only one real star the past few years. The only way many people got any rating was losing to Martinez. Objectively speaking, thats a terrible way to rank boxers. Just because the people GGG beat, with the exception of Macklin, had not lost to Sergio in a good fight does not mean they lacked power or skill.

3 years from now, after MW having more star power again, a lot of these MW guys who have gotten little credit or attention will be viewed much more favorably simply because GGG and Quillin are getting HBO and SHO to try and make more fights and the division will get better publicity. Stevens in particular I think beats anyone at MW not named GGG (with a Mora caveat, he may have issue chasing down slicksters even though his skills have improved) and most SMW.
