When you saw it live and you saw Groves hurt in the 9th what did you think? I'm going to be honest, I felt Groves was on his way to being stopped.

he was hurt but i didnt think he was out of it then, i did get flashbacks to froch vs bute because some of the punches wobbled him badly, i was of couse hoping for a sustained flurry but was suprised/happy(as a froch fan) when the ref jumped in,

When i watched it live i was surprised to see it stopped so early. Froch was getting through with some punches, but he was also missing and didn't look in complete control of himself either. Coming to think about it, Froch was heavily shook through the whole fight and never quite recovered at any point. I'm starting to think he was fighting concussed or was really hurt throughout. I really hope he is ok and gets a thorough check-up before making any decisions.

Groves had been caught at times, but always came through it. Expected the same to occur in the 9th.

I thought Groves was going to come through it, Froch was missing and bundling Groves forward most of the time whilst expending a lot of energy. I had an inkling Howard Fixer had received his cue and could feel the stoppage coming allbeit unjustified based on what was actually happened, At the moment of the stoppage me and my mates were all very angry and confused at the stoppage and I pretty much havent stopped thinking about it since Saturday. It has left such a bitter taste to have had such a great fight ruined in such an unjust and abrupt way.

To get it out of the way upfront, I had money on a Groves points win, so wanted him to win....
I was a bit concerned, but not overly. I thought it was similar to round 6 when they traded, Groves was caught and looked wobbled, more as in put off balance and bullied about a bit, rather than out of it. I expected him to try and tie-up or roll-out as he had for most of the fight and then get back to how the fight had been through the first 8.

I think Groves' argument that he still fully had his legs, had his hands up and was punching back is pushing it a bit, but Froch and McCracken saying he was gone was equally as far fetched. The reality is he was somewhere in-between. Not in full control, but certainly nowhere near the point to jump in for a world title fight he was (or should have been given the cards issue) clearly winning.

Apart from the fact I wanted Froch to win, this hits the nail on the head for me.

I was thinking. "hope the ref stays ****ing clear"

And also what was groves doing trading with him... Some of the punches that started the bombardment were telegraphed where froch plants his feet and lets go of the kitchen sink.... When he misses he usually looses his footing and squares up.... Setting himself up for a perfect shot for him to be countered.

groves just had to fight smart and would have had froch out of there... That's why even at age 50, this old haggard version of bhop would school froch and make him look silly.

Carl has a history of finishing someone well, so I though he would do and coupled with the fact groves wasn't throwing anything back.

Spot on. It was somewhere in between to be honest. Groves was starting to look warn down and tired in that round. No idea if he would have fully recovered and survived, as it was another full 3 rounds ahead of him. Saying that, its amazing how Froch carried on. The man was out of it and fought on like a zombie. This fight will have damaged Froch permanently.

As it happened on the telly I though Goves's legs had gone and he was leaning forward with his arms just danlging in front of him so I thought it was fair enough.

I also think if it had carried on Groves would've been stopped no more that 20-30 seconds later.

i was thinking 'what an ideal time for the ref to jump in and save froch from a beating' low and behold look what happened...
there was only 3 rounds left i am fairly sure there was plenty of fight left in both men but now we will never know....

the ref may have done froch a favour in the short term but in the long run its what everyone is going to remember so he may be as disappointed as groves and the rest of us in the future

nothing like bute, they were both swinging at eaechother on the ropes, then I think they came off froch landed 2 the ref grabbed George.

cant remember which round it is but groves landed about 10 power shots straight at froch with no answer back and with him on back foot, ref did **** all then.

Round 6 I think. Groves lands a sickening sequence of punches
