Froch isn't clever enough to think like that. He's a bitter and deluded fool, and has been woefully overrated for years, as GG said. A product of Sky Sports and Eddie Hearn's brainwashing. His true colours are now coming out.
STFU Froch. Not only are you due Groves a rematch but Dirrell deserves one too! If it were the other way round Froch would be demanding a rematch...remember Kessler 1?
Apologies for last garbled post lads,my point being believe no one, take every statement with a pinch of salt cos all concerned here (boxers Promoters sky etc) are just stood around an un believable pile of cash wide eyed tongues hanging out ready to grab as much as they can,
If Froch thinks Ward is coming over here after seeing that stoppage / hearing the judges scores then he has something seriously wrong with him and needs to retire now!
Deebest,I agree that's exactly what I would say too........that's why Froch is very rich and I am comparatively poor (we are too nice!)atsch
Are you saying that Froch did give Groves a chance because he chose not to vacate his title? Are you also saying Froch being beaten up for most of the fight and then getting a dodgy stoppage in his favour is more emphatic than Ward totally outclassing Froch?
The first point, yes, absolutely I'm saying that. I'm saying that Carl did what Calzaghe didn't, he kept his titles and fought the mandatory challenger rather than vacating. I'm putting into the context of what Calzaghe did at the same point in his career. I was also making the point that he didn't win a title by being a mandatory for Taylor, which is what the poster I quoted had said. On the second point I was playing devil's advocate. Why should Ward be able to use the excuse 'I already beat him, I don't NEED to fight him again' when the scorecards (however off they were - and those cards were from an American and a Canadian, lest we forget) suggested the fight was close, and Froch, after a TKO win, is getting for denigrated for using the same line, that's my point.
At least Calzaghe was universally recognised as the best super-middleweight in the world. Carl Froch, despite his titles, has never, ever been the number one super-middleweight in the world. Quite funny really.
