To be honest this all l really started when Groves went and sparred with Kessler for the rematch with Froch - who claimed to the effect that Groves was being unpatriotic and working for the enemy.

Then once the fight was announced he starts the talk of Groves is disrespectful and not in his league and will be taken to school etc. All I ever heard from Groves was self belief and questioning Froch's opinion of himself. The personal jibes, childish and facecious talk was coming from Froch imo. I remember Froch saying worse to get Calzaghe in the ring!

Ive not heard Groves be disrespectful in all honesty. If anyone was making personal jokes it was Froch. And likewise with the twitter jibes by Froch's brother.

On top of all of that I found it an insult to the intelligence of us fans who saw an unfair premature stoppage where Froch was in trouble in the fight up to round 8 being justified by Froch and his trainer McCracken. A warrior he is but an insecure on to boot.

 

In that he can actually avoid the rematch yes but is he in the driving seat if he wants to retain his warrior image? Methinks not. If the rematch doesn't happen everyone will say that he ducked groves after getting lucky. It is what will define him and it is as simple as that.

 

What big money HBO fights?

It's well documented that Ward is not box office on either side of the atlantic. Hearn has made a big play of this previously when claiming that any rematch should take place over here to make the most of Froch's popularity here... That hand is now severely weakened after he was booed out by 21,000 fans despite "winning".

Ward isn't going to come over here, and even if he did the fight wouldn't be as big as a rematch. If Froch does take the Ward fight it's sure sign that he's running scared of Groves.

GGG might do OK numbers over there, but is relatively unknown over here outside boxing circles.

And is Froch likely to be able to draw in big PPV numbers over there? Hmmm.

Fact is, Groves II is the biggest fight financially for Froch. If he dodges it, his warrior "I'll fight anyone" reputation is no more.

I think anyone saying groves needs to stop disrespecting Carl's family need to go and have a look on twitter at lee froch, Carl's brother. He has tweeted non stop trying to antagonise people for the last 3 days, he's a ****ing arsehole and George has only replied once saying why didnt you say this to my face etc
